With practical doings, Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP)’s Trade Union has become a firm fulcrum for employees working for businesses in the IP.
One of top tasks done by VSIP’s Trade Union is to protect employees’legitimate rights and interests. Particularly, the Trade Union over the past time organized training courses on skills of negotiating, setting up and signing mass labor deals. Dang Thi Kim Chi, Chairwoman of VSIP’s Trade Union said that so far, there have been 122 trade union locals negotiating and signing mass deals with employees. VSIP’s Trade Union has also tried hard to take measures to improve mass labor deals in both quantity and quality.

In addition, VSIP’s Trade Union has regularly guided trade union locals to be proactive to work with enterprises to carry out grassroots democratic regulations at workplaces via organizing conferences and periodic dialogues for employees. In 2015, 30 out of 267 trade union locals teamed up with enterprises to forward periodic dialogues with employees. The implementation of grassroots democratic regulations also upheld employees’collective ownership rights to comply with the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies, thereby contributing to protecting employees and employers’legitimate rights and interests.
VSIP’s Trade Union has also always paid attention to taking care of employees’spiritual and material lives. VSIP’sTrade Union and its affiliates have to date taken good care of employees via many practical activities such as visiting, presenting Tet gifts to them on Tet and great holidays…Especially, they have maintained the “mutual affection, mutual love” fund. There have been 138 units in VSIPs joining the fund that now has a total of more than VND210mln.
Mrs.Thanh said that after its four-year operation, the “mutual affection, mutual love” fund has received high appreciation in terms of transparence and publicity. It offered timely support to employees hit by workplace accidents, those with fatal diseases…during the past time.
Dang Quang Duan, Chairman of Apparel Far Eastern VN Co.Ltd.’s Trade Union said that “mutual affection, mutual love” activities have always been put forward in action programs of the company’sTrade Union Executive Board with a goal of paying more attention to employees when facing unexpected difficulties. The company’s Trade Union Executive Board and Directorate have well realized these activities, contributing to taking care of employees’lives.
With concrete, practical activities, VSIP’s Trade Union has won employees and trade union locals’faith, contributing to building up a more and more powerful organization.
