Yesterday morning (March 21), the Standing Committees of Binh Duong - Binh Phuoc provincial Youth Unions and the Song Be - Binh Duong - Binh Phuoc Youth Union Officials’ Club held a get-together to commemorate the 94th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2025) at the WTC Expo International Exhibition Center. The event also included a festival and meeting of generations of Youth Union officials from Song Be, Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc over periods.
94 years growing with nation
At the get-together, delegates reviewed the 94-year history and development of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. Right after the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, it was determined that establishing the Communist Youth Union was a necessary task to rally an important segment of the proletarian class—an urgent issue that the Party needed to address. Over the past 94 years, the Youth Union has been more than a revolutionary vanguard—it has also been a reliable reserve force and strong arm of the Party. Under the Party’s leadership, generations of Youth Union officials and members have matured and many outstanding members have been admitted into the Party.
Upholding this glorious tradition, the Youth Union’s activities and youth movements in Binh Duong have always aligned with political tasks and local practical conditions. They have continuously innovated in operational contents and methods. The development of the Youth Union, Youth Federation and Young Pioneers organizations has seen positive changes from the provincial to the grassroots levels, contributing to improving the cohesion and mobilization of youth across communities, enterprises, agencies and schools. The Youth Union regularly nurtures and recommends outstanding members to the Party for consideration and admission while also mobilizing and connecting social resources to care for young people. Youth Union-led projects have contributed to new-style rural development and the promotion of cultural and civilized urban lifestyles. In recent years, Youth Union members have demonstrated pioneering spirit in all fields, especially in applying science and technology, digital transformation and innovation. For many consecutive years, the province’s Youth Union work has maintained excellent performance.
Comrade Nguyen Van Thoa, Head of the Song Be - Binh Duong - Binh Phuoc Youth Union Officials’ Club stated: “In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and a new era of national advancement, science, technology and digital transformation are key drivers of development. The Party and State have issued numerous guidelines and policies to promote this focus area, notably the Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation. With its inherent pioneering spirit, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union should take the lead in implementing digital transformation, enhancing science and technology capabilities for Youth Union members and fostering creative startups, contributing to elevating Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and the nation to new heights”.
Heartwarming solidarity between Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc
At the commemorative event for the 94th founding anniversary of the Youth Union's, more than 500 Youth Union officials and members from Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc gathered to honor traditions and set goals for building their homeland and the nation. Dr. Phan Tan Luc, a lecturer at Thu Dau Mot University shared: “The 94th founding anniversary of the Youth Union is a time to remember our proud tradition and express gratitude to generations of Youth Union officials. This is also an opportunity to remind the younger generation to constantly dedicate themselves, constantly learn to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors and be worthy of their predecessors...”.
On this occasion, the organizers held many meaningful activities, including paying tribute to comrade Nguyen Minh Triet, former Politburo member and former State President; paying tribute to former Deputy Secretaries of the Song Be - Binh Duong - Binh Phuoc Youth Unions over periods; presenting the "For the Young Generation" mementos; awarding the Ly Tu Trong Award from the Youth Union Central Committee to two Youth Union officials; granting 15 scholarships to disadvantaged students and providing support packages of VND 10 million each to two former Youth Union officials in difficult circumstances.
Comrade Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee and Head of provincial National Assembly Delegation stated: “All-level Youth Unions must improve political and ideological education, revolutionary ideals for the younger generation, especially the spirit of devotion to national development and prosperity. Strengthening the Youth Union is a step ahead in strengthening the Party; building a contingent of Youth Union officials who dare thinking, know how to act and are willing to make bold breakthroughs for common benefits, for the development of the nation and the organization”.
Party committees at all levels must build truly clean and strong apparatuses, with every Party member being a role model for young people to follow. Simultaneously, we must focus on strong economic development to create the best conditions and environments for youth to study, strive, develop and grow. Youth Union members must actively innovate and help build a digital society, convert Binh Duong’s economy to a green economy, protect the ecological environment and ensure a healthy living environment…
