Warmness of humanity amid pandemic

People in Binh Duong are always known for their lifestyle of affection and gratitude and always promote the spirit of "mutual love, mutual affection", especially in times of difficulty and tribulation. During this pandemic, the spirit has continued being multiplied through activities calling for donations to support  Covid-19 prevention and control or organizing practical support activities to take care of anti-Covid-19 forces as well as those who are facing difficulties, due to the impacts of the pandemic.

Small action - big meaning

Since the beginning of the fourth wave of Covid-19, the province's support point for Covid-19 prevention and control on April 30 street in TDM city’s Phu Hoa ward has always received contributions from organizations, individuals and businesses. With the spirit of "Good leaves protect torn ones", no matter how much or little, all contributions from the community to the fight against the pandemic are very precious and appreciated. Representatives of businesses, organizations and individuals expressed that their contributions come from a sense of responsibility to join hands with the local authorities at all levels to soon repel the pandemic.

Cloth masks sewn by Mrs.Tam, a resident of Hiep Thanh ward, Thu Dau Mot city for the local anti-Covid-19 forces

Among the donors, there is a very ordinary image that has left many unforgettable impressions. That is the image of an elderly woman, going to the support point  of provincial Red Cross to donate more than 100 cloth masks sewed by herself, with the words written on the bags of masks: “Sewing machine is damaged, so masks are not beautiful, I hope you understand. Thank you". She is called Tam and now lives in Thu Dau Mot city’s Hiep Thanh ward. Through provincial Red Cross Society, she wanted to donate these masks to anti-Covid-19 forces in Hiep Thanh Residential Area 3.

Or, three children in Dau Tieng district supported nearly VND 4.5 million for the local Covid-19 prevention and control fund from their piggy banks. They are  three  brothers, namely Quach Dai Vy, Quach Dai Nam and Quach Nam Phuong in Dau Tieng town’s quarter 2. Although being small, such gestures contain a lot of values of sharing.

Warmness amid pandemic

Over the past week, a rice ATM located at No.51 Nguyen Du street, Di An ward, Di An city has become a place providing free rice daily for many people in need during this pandemic. From 9 am to 16 pm every day, Kim My Ngoc, Head of Di An city’s SOS Team will open the rice ATM to distribute rice to needy people with the support of team members. To ensure safety for Covid-19 prevention and control, recipients are instructed to queue up to keep safe distance, wear face masks, and wash their hands before going inside to get rice.

On average, the rice ATM will deliver from 1.1 to 1.2 tons of rice per day. Each person will receive 2 kg per day. Mr. Ngoc said that the rice source is provided by the Red Cross Societies of the city, Di An ward and donors. Along with rice, vegetables, fruits or other necessities were given by donors. Mr. Ngoc also distributed them to rice recipients or transported them to the local blockage areas in order to deliver residents and workers at lodging facilities.

“Over the past few days, more than 7 tons of rice were distributed to the poor. For those who are in difficulty, this 2 kg of rice will help them reduce partially their daily living expenses. We are looking forward to receiving more support from businesses and donors to maintain the operation of the rice ATM for longer time, partially supporting the poor amid the pandemic...", Mr. Ngoc said.

For a long time, the family of Pham Tuan Thao's in Di An city’s Di An ward has opened an eatery, so he and his wife has decided to cook some dishes to support forces on duty at the checkpoints in the ward during this epidemic. On average, his family provides about 80-100 meals of supper for anti-Covid-19 forces at the local checkpoints .This job has been maintained by his family for about a week. Mr. Thao shared that each meal is not worth much, but it is the affection of my family for anti-pandemic forces, encouraging them in the fight against the pandemic, joining hands with the locality to curb the pandemic well…”

The two words "compatriot" are full of spirituality. During this epidemic, the humanity in the community is once again multiplied through practical and timely assistance activities. Each gesture, each way of doing things is different, but they all have the same purpose, which is to work together to fight the pandemic.
