*Giving gifts for elderly people with difficult circumstances
On September 20, Thu Dau Mot city’s Red Cross Society organized a "zero-dong” market-day to give gifts for the local poor people.
With the meaning of "Good leaves protect the torn ones", "A piece when hungry is equal to a package when full", the market-day received contributions from businesses and donors. From this source of support, the city’s Red Cross Society gave 150 shopping vouchers for those from disadvantaged households, the elderly, lottery ticket sellers, workers... Each voucher was supported with a gift worth VND 850,000.
This is the 35th "zero-dong” market-day organized by the city’s Red Cross Societies at all levels this year. Among them, there were 7 market-days conducted by the city’s Red Cross Society and 28 ones from the Red Cross Society branches of wards. This meaningful humanitarian activity has spread love and sharing in the community, contributing to improving the lives of the local disadvantaged people.
*On the morning of the same day, the Association of the Elderly of An Phu Ward in Thuan An city held a conference to preliminarily review the three-year implementation of the Intergenerational Self-Help Club model for the period of 2020-2023.
On this occasion, the Organization Board gave 40 gifts for the local elderly people with difficult circumstances. An Phu ward’s People's Committee awarded the certificates of merit to 6 collectives and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in the elderly movement activities between 2021 and 2023.
