The commitment was made by the WB Special Envoy for Climate Change, Andrew Steer, during his recent visit to Vietnam for discussions about the Climate Change Partnership (VNCLIP).
He stressed the need to tighten cooperation among Government agencies in order to deal with issues related to climate change.
The WB official also highlighted the main topics to be tabled at the upcoming international conference on global climate change in South Africa from November 28 to December 9.
Valuable lessons learnt about adapting to climate change in Vietnam will be discussed along with the action plans from other countries around the world, he said.
Mr Steer also mentioned the VNCLIP project which is being implemented by the Ministries of Natural Resources and Environment; Planning and Investment; Industry and Trade; and Agriculture and Rural Development, with assistance from the WB and the British government.
The US$4.2-million project will be implemented through March 2014.
