Binh Duong Daily has just talked with Nguyen Hoang Bao Tran, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union about a welfare program for trade unionists and laborers.
-Could tell us when the program is implemented? Anh what are the results of the program?
Based on the Circular No.166/TLD dated February 14, 2017 on the realization of the cooperation agreement between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and partners on welfare policies for trade unionists, provincial Labor Union opportunely issued the Guidance No.12/HD-LDLD on the implementation of 2017’s theme “The year for trade unionists’ benefit”. At that time, the province had 3 participating units, namely FPT Joint Stock Company, Saigon Co.op and Nutifood Joint Stock Company.
Provincial Labor Union and Trade Unions at all levels have so far signed with 34 enterprises to realize the program with more than 210,000 trade unionists, laborers used products and services with total benefit from the program at nearly VND10billion. For example, Agage has linked with supermarkets to sell products with 10%-30% discounts on flexible or deferred payments. Dai Nam Tourism Complex has also provided laborers with preferential tickets at VND135,000 each. Many other units, namely Nghe Nang Industry Co.Ltd., An Phat Thinh Vuong One-Member Co.Ltd., Dai-Ichi Life Vietnam Insurance Company, Binh Duong Water-Environment Joint Stock Company…have also pledged to implement many promotion programs with big discounts for trade unionists.
-The program also contributes to supporting enterprises in goods consumption. Thus, how are enterprises’ contributions to the program?
Along with selling goods with prices that are 15%-40% lower than those sold in the market, enterprises have pledged to partially extract their benefit for trade union activities. When taking part in the program, we and enterprises always want to bring hi-quality products with reasonable prices to laborers.
After more than one year of accompanying the program, enterprises have always well realized commitments with trade unions at all levels…
Based on results done in 2018, since early 2019, participating units have set their plans on sales for the year. It is hoped that with the efforts by participating units, trade unionists and laborers will enjoy more benefits from the program.
-Which solutions will provincial Labor Union step up to bring more benefits to trade unionists and laborers in the coming time?
Provincial Labor Union will concentrate on improve the quality of participation in setting up regulations relating to benefits for trade unionists and laborers; enhance the quality of collective labor deals, dialogues; increase the effectiveness of welfare works and trade union institutions.
For the program getting better results, provincial Labor Union will also continue signing cooperation agreements with new prestigious enterprises that have products in line with laborers’ demand; regularly organize festival for enterprises to introduce their products and laborers to get access to these products…
