On the afternoon of March 6, provincial People’s Committee held a conference to partially review the result of the implementation of health insurance coverage target under the Prime Minister’s Decision No.1167/QD-TTg and implement tasks for 2017, which was presided over by Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.
Under the Decision No.1167, as of late 2016, the whole province had a total of nearly 1.6million people joining heath insurance or 79.04% of total population, beyond 0.44% of the set target. In 2017, the local health insurance sector will continue rechecking the number of units and laborers belonging to the group of compulsory insurance in each locality, minimize social insurance arrears; strive to raise the rate of health insurance coverage to 81.8% in accordance with the target of the Resolution of provincial People’s Council…
Speaking at the conference, Mr.Hung required leaders of the People’s Committees of districts, towns and TDM city to consider health insurance participation as a goal for the local socio-economic development; boost administrative reform, creating favorable conditions for locals to join insurance, especially health insurance. The sector also needs to strengthen propaganda work in order to raise awareness of voluntary health insurance participation among locals.
On this occasion, provincial People’s Committee awarded the certificates of merit to 3 outstanding collectives in developing the number of people joining health insurance in 2016. Vietnam’s social insurance also presented the certificates of merit to outstanding collectives and individuals in the local task of social and health insurance last year.
