Widespread promotion of learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle

In recent years, along with intensifying widespread dissemination among the entire Party and people about the implementation of the Politburo’s Directive No. 05-CT/TW dated May 15, 2016 on “Accelebration of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle”, Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Standing Committee has focused on leadership and direction in following Uncle Ho through various practical and diverse models, suited to local realities. As a result, studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle has yielded many positive outcomes, making important contributions to Party building and local socio-economic development.

Diverse forms of communication

Based on thoroughly understanding the Directive No.05 and its term-based and annual thematic content as guided by provincial Party Committee, Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee has developed plans and directed grassroots Party cells and organizations to widely implement them among all Party members, civil servants, public employees, Youth Union members, association members and the public. The study of the directive has been closely aligned with the effective use of materials compiled by the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, achieving significant results. Moreover, agencies, organizations and localities have integrated the thematic content into the formulation and implementation of resolutions, reflecting the motto of “The Party’s policies resonate with the will of the people”, thus contributing to bringing the resolutions of the Central Party, the province’s Party Congress and the city’s Party Congress to life. Simultaneously, Party cells at all levels have incorporated these themes into regular and quarterly thematic meetings, linked with individual commitments to self-improvement and training, especially among leaders and managers, creating a clear transformation in awareness and action.

In addition to traditional propaganda methods, local Party committees have promoted the application of information technology by producing videos, infographics, organizing online contests, forums and discussions about President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology. These efforts have enhanced the quality of political and ideological education. Furthermore, each year's theme has been translated into ethical and professional standards for various sectors, agencies and units, helping cadres and Party members engage in self-reflection and self-correction while improving their sense of responsibility and work efficiency.

According to the city’s Party Standing Committee, the leadership and implementation of learning, thoroughly understanding and applying the term-based and annual thematic content of the Directive No.05 in the city has been conducted seriously, within the timeline set by the Party Committees of the province and city and has met its goals and requirements. Through research and learning, Party members and people from all strata in the city have deeply grasped the purpose, significance and importance of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle. This has facilitated the development and implementation of innovative and practical models in line with orientations from higher-level authorities and local circumstances.

Implementation of Directive No. 05 associated with Party Building

Along with implementing diverse communication methods for the Directive No. 05, city-level Party committees have focused on practical applications with many innovative and appropriate models. These emphasize the roles, responsibilities and exemplary conduct of all-level Party committees, authorities, Party members, especially key leaders.

Nguyen Huu Thanh, Pernament Vice Secretary of Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee and Chairman of the city’s People's Council stated that the city’s Party Committee has considered setting an example as a central element in learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle. Annual plans have consistently emphasized the exemplary role of Party members, particularly leaders, helping overcome shortcomings identified in self-assessment and combating degradation in political ideology, morality and lifestyle. Leaders and managers always set examples in their work, maintain close ties with the people, listen to and promptly address legitimate public concerns, thereby reinforcing trust in the Party and State. Through these efforts, Party members have strictly adhered to Party regulations, actively fought against corruption and negativity, enhanced responsibility, reformed administrative procedures, promoted digital transformation and innovated work practices, earning public recognition and appreciation.

In addition, after studying the term-based and annual themes, grassroots Party committees have concretized and developed plans to follow Uncle Ho’s ideology, morality and lifestyle, closely linked with the implementation of the 4th Central Resolution on Party building and rectification as well as the political tasks of each locality and unit. They have focused on selecting pressing, complex and sensitive issues of public concern for inclusion in the plans and for targeted resolution. This approach has been viewed as a crucial solution to improve the effectiveness of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle. The city has particularly emphasized the implementation of the “one-stop shop” and “inter-agency one-stop shop” mechanisms, boosted administrative reform, strengthened bonds with the public, quickly identified and resolved obstacles, actively fought corruption and negativity and addressed urgent and high-profile issues within each collective, agency, unit and locality while reminding and handling cadres violating regulations in a timely manner.

Moreover, grassroots Party cells, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations from the city to grassroots levels have continuously made accelebration of learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle, considering it as a key component of emulation in learning the Party’s resolutions, fulfilling professional duties, practicing thrift and combating corruption, wastefulness and bureaucracy through concrete actions. As a result, 100% of Party cells and organizations have effectively implemented moral, professional and public service codes of conduct with specific criteria on public interaction, behavior and administrative reform.

It can be affirmed that after 10 years of implementation, studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and lifestyle in the city has gradually become a routine practice and an important, regular task of grassroots Party cells, Party organizations and Party members. This has made significant contributions to Party building and rectification and has promoted the sense of responsibility and exemplary behavior among Party members and leaders. This has significantly contributed to Party building and rectification efforts, encouraged self-discipline and exemplary behavior among Party members and leaders, helped curb and prevent the degradation of political ideology, morality and lifestyle as well as signs of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation”. It has also actively protected the Party’s ideological foundation and opposed wrongful and hostile views, thus reinforcing public trust in the Party and the State. The results achieved in implementing the Directive No.05 are key factors, positively contributing to Party building, the political system and the socio-economic development of the city in particular and the province in general.
