In March, there is a very practical activity for women is the movement of career guidance, startups, job introduction to increase income. Women’s Union of Di An City is an example that has helped women change the course and succeed.
Step out into the business
Cao Thi Thy owns a printing workshop in Tan Thang neighborhood, Tan Binh ward, Di An City. She said that due to the pandemic, her work has been stalled, but the number of clothes printing orders still has enough to do. Her job is to import sports clothes, uniforms, sleepwear and print these clothes at customer requests. Words, logos, images... all kinds of styles and she constantly searches, learns new things to satisfy the most demanding customers.
Nguyen Hoai Thương (left end) is always passionate about handicraft products and gained very good results.
Talking about the current clothing printing industry, Huong said: "I was born in Thanh Hoa and have been Binh Duong for 16 years. Like many people from other places coming to Binh Duong to start a business, I applied to work as an unskilled worker, then worked in an office, and finally decided to quit my job to find my own direction. At first I went to work and brought clothes into the company to sell to my friends but then I started to sell online. As I earned a good income, had many wholesale orders and was helped by my husband in product design, I boldly quitted my job at home to open and develop a clothing printing workshop at home. Currently, I have about 40 dealers for distribution, helping women get jobs, increasing income so I feel very happy."
Overcoming the initial difficulties, Huong has received many orders from schools and companies in and outside the province. She listens to customers' requests, her price is also very affordable, therefore the number of her customers is increasing. Very sincerely, Huong said, out of 40 dealers taking her products, there are about 20 dealers doing very good business, having good income. The rest stopped at an income increase of about 5-6 million / month. However, it is also the money needed to cover expenses of a young family. She always looks for large clients to have works for everyone.
Woman members of Tan Binh ward Women’s Union may receive start-up support capital to earn an income. Pham Kim Yen, Chairwoman of Tan Binh ward Women’s Union, said that there are currently 410 women receiving preferential loans with a total amount of more than VND25 billion. Many women have done very successful businesses and created jobs for 7 workers. According to Yen, loans from the Bank for Social Policy granted to women for starting a business is about 50-100 million VND / person. They borrow and manage well the capital, develop good businesses, gain very high efficiency.
Redirect the course for passion
Nguyen Hoai Thương (born in 1987 in Tay A neighborhood, Dong Hoa ward, Di An City), said that she began arts and crafts very accidentally. After giving birth to her second child and quitting her job, she focused on her childhood passion of knitting, crocheting wool... With wool, clay, wax, wood, ceramic vases, she made into handbags, vases. "Each product is made within 5-7 days so I only do it in my spare time, after I finish the housework and take care of my two young children. I remember the first vases that were not so beautiful, but it was a huge work for me. When I made a basket with beautiful wool motifs, I put it on my Facebook page. I can't believe my friends love it, bought and introduced more buyers. Then there were orders from the US, Italy, South Korea ... It makes me more confident and continues my work with my passion," she shared.
Huynh Thi Thu Ha, Chairman of Dong Hoa ward Women’s Union, said that Thuong is also a member receiving a loan of VND100 million from the Startup Fund to both open a lodging house and pursue her passion for art items. A handmade basket costs from 600,000 - 1.5 million VND with sharp subtle lines that are very popular with customers.
Another woman who is also passionate about her work, which is Pham Thi Trung Trinh (born in 1986), the owner of Kalaa chain stores specializing in providing products from natural herbs and clean agricultural products.
Trung Trinh said she has been following this product line for 3 years. She previously worked as an interior designer for foreign companies. The income was quite high, but she wanted to find her own direction. From a very casual thought, that women do housework throughout the day, exposed to chemicals from laundry, dishwashing, floor cleaning detergents to even the smell of incense when lit, if not paying attention to toxic chemicals, affect badly our health.
Especially in damp, light-deprived lodging houses, if not thoroughly cleaned, the more it affects the health of women and children. From that thought, she researched and found a line of environmentally friendly organic products, which are essential oils to scent offices, floor cleaners, herbal incense... Recently, Trinh has expanded to clean agricultural products with the main product of the famous ST rice for housewives.
The initial difficulty is the price of this product line is higher than the price of popular types on the market, but Trinh has worked hard with her staff to find out, meet many customers, invite them to try the products... Today, customers know more about her products. In the last Covid-19 wave, the more people paid attention to the quality of life, to cleaning the surrounding environment, Trinh's work was much more favorable. Currently, this herb product supply chain has 20 dealers and 30 stores. Trinh said she would continue to develop the model of "Eat clean - drink clean - stay clean" to help women improve their physical and mental health, from which they do better their duty.
These above women boldly started their own business, find their own way to raise their income, help their families and above all to satisfy the passion that they have cherished for a long time and now they have succeeded. The determination of young women to start a business, the support of Women’s Union of Di An City prove one thing: Once women are determined, they will succeed.
Chu Thi Thanh Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Di An City Women’s Union, said the project 939 "Supporting women’s start-ups" of Di An City Women's Union in 2018-2025 period has been implemented with many practical activities, such as propagating, guiding woman officials and members to write and implement start-up ideas; organizing activities to support start-ups for 1,542 women. Through these activities, up to now, there have been 45 ideas on start-ups, 18 members who have been successful in startups and were supported by the Women’s Union to develop feasible projects, total loan amount is over VND 600 million.
