Ben Cat town’s Labor Union in collaboration with the town’s Youth Union and provincial Business Bloc’s Youth Union held a ceremony to launch the Workers’ Month, Young Workers’ Week 2017 in My Phuoc ward on the evening of May 6.
At the ceremony, the town’s Youth Union awarded 24 gifts worth VND500,000 each to workers with difficult circumstances. The town’s Youth Union, provincial Business Bloc’s Youth Union and Trade Promotion Center also donated 38 gifts to poor alien young workers. In addition, provincial Youth Federation presented 2 sets of mobile audio equipment to its branches in Tan Dinh and Hoa Loi wards. The Standing Committee of provincial Business Bloc’s Youth Union honored 12 individuals winning the title of “outstanding young laborer” 2017; kicked off the Karaoke singing contest for young workers of Ben Cat town’s Business Bloc 2017.

With the theme of “For benefits of trade unionists”, the town’s Workers’ Month and Young Workers’ Week 2017 will take place with activities towards grassroots level, meeting workers’ practical needs in association with the Action Month on Food Safety and Hygiene 2017. Particularly, the town’s Trade Unions at all levels will organize recreational activities for workers; visit and present gifts to needy workers; organize dialogues between local leaders and trade union officials at non-State businesses; boost propaganda work among workers; honor outstanding workers and offer gifts to workers hit by labor accidents…
Some practical activities, including selling “sale-off” goods, organizing haircut free of charge, presenting “business start-up” books to young workers, providing them with consultancy on vocational training, preferential loans…, were held also at the ceremony.
On this occasion, the town’s People’s Committee also gave 28 gifts worth VND300,000-VND500,000 each for workers hit by labor accidents and 27 others worth VND500,000 each for the offspring of workers with difficult circumstances.
