Workers to stay put

In the face of the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic together with authorities at all levels, the Binh Duong provincial Trade Union is promoting propaganda and mobilizing workers to stay in place to facilitate the safety of workers in the process of Covid-19 prevention and control by ensuring the health and safety of themselves and the community.
They should not leave
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trong, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union at  Long Yi Co. Ltd. in My Phuoc 2 Industrial Park, said that before the complicated developments of the epidemic, there have been infections in many companies. On July 17, the company decided to let all its employees temporarily take leaves to enjoy the full regional minimum wage of VND 4,420,000 for Covid-19 prevention and control. Based on the epidemic situation, the company will soon announce the date of returning to work. Currently, Long Yi Company has more than 3,000 workers; most of them from the North, some in the Central region and a few in the West. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trong said: “Facing the complicated situation of the epidemic, the company's Trade Union regularly propagates and reminds employees to stay where they are, not to move to other places or to return to their hometowns at the time to protect themselves and  ensure the health and safety of their families and the community."

In particular, the trade union of Long Yi Co. Ltd. also promotes communication, advocacy and grasping information about the health situation as well as the lives of workers through Zalo groups of production groups throughout the company to timely  offer available solutions. Through propaganda and mobilization, up to now, all employees of the company have well complied with the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control measures at their places of residence and no one has been returning home. Le Phi Anh, an employee at Long Yi Co. Ltd. said: "My opinion is that if workers are in an area with Covid-19 epidemic, they should not go back to their hometowns at this time, because they have to be quarantined at home, they will face  many difficulties and may pose a potential risk of spreading the disease to family members and the community. Therefore, even though the company is taking a break from work to prevent and control the epidemic, I still stay in one place and limit my travelling to protect the health of myself and all those around me."

At Tombow Co. Ltd. in Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) I, right after receiving the notice about the mobilization of employees to stay put, the company's trade union has stepped up the propaganda and transportation activities for employees to stay at their current residence and not move to other places or return to their hometowns, thereby affecting the Covid-19 prevention and control. At the same time, the trade unions also use social networks (Facebook, Zalo, etc.) to regularly propagate and mobilize employees to feel secure at home to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic; those workers who do not go to work by "3 on the spot" regimes are subsidized by the company at VND 170,000 a day for the first 14 days; at the same time, the Company's Trade Union regularly propagates and reminds employees to strictly observe measures as well as regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control at their places of residence through Zalo groups;  especially absolutely not move from the place of residence. All employees of the company are well implementing regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.

Workers are not alone

Ms. Dang Kim Chi, Chairman of VSIP Trade Union, said that the union informed and directed the trade unions to continue promoting the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic among employees at the companies; especially, to regularly mobilize and remind union members and employees not to move out of the province or locality where they reside in any way. At the same time, the VSIP Trade Union directed the trade unions to continue to review the difficult circumstances of union members and workers affected by the epidemic in lockdown and quarantined areas for timely support and care.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan, Chairwoman of the provincial Trade Union, said that following the telegram of the Prime Minister, Binh Duong has been closely managing workers in the area and will strictly sanctioned those who leave their houses and places of residence without a legitimate reason or voluntarily leave for their hometowns orreturn to their hometowns without permission of the competent authority. It is known that provinces and cities will not accept citizens returning home spontaneously. With all resources, the government and mass organizations in the province have been carrying out specific activities to take care of the people and workers;  at the same time, they continue to vaccinate people and workers to quickly control the epidemic and stabilize jobs, income and life of workers.

The provincial Trade Union urges all union members and employees absolutely not move out of the province or locality where they reside from July 31 until the end of social distancing in the spirit of "staying where you are". The provincial Trade Union calls for  union members and employees to stay calm, agree and cooperate with local authorities to overcome difficulties at this time. In case of needing support, they can contact the administration of their residence, the local community, their superiors or the hotline 1022 for support  or if there is a need for advice and answers on regimes and policies related to employees, contact the hot line of Binh Duong Trade Union at 0889287287.
