One of the Trade Union’s top priorities over the past time was to protect trade unionists and laborers’ legitimate rights and interests. The Trade Union and its branches actively coordinated with the VSIP Management Board to realize grassroots democratic regulations; was proactive to monitor over the implementation of the Labor Code, the Law on Trade Union…, contributing to stabilizing labor relations among enterprises.

Realizing the importance of collective labor deals in protecting laborers’ legitimate rights and interests, right from the beginning of the tenure, the Trade Union set up a plan on the implementation of a program on “Improving the quality of effectively negotiating, signing and realizing collective labor deals in VSIP for the period of 2013-2018”. As of now, there have been 165 trade union locals signing collective labor deals with enterprises, bringing more benefits to laborers. Enterprises in the VSIP also paid more attention to realizing grassroots democratic regulations through conferences for laborers and periodic dialogues, thereby helping laborers uphold and raise their creativeness and responsibility in order to excellently fulfill entrusted tasks.
The Trade Union and its branches also accompanied businesses in giving care for the spiritual and material lives of laborers via such practical activities as visiting, offering gifts to laborers on Tet and great holidays…After 7 years of development, the “mutual affection, mutual love” fund of the Trade Union opportunely gave financial support for trade unionists hit by traffic accidents, suffering fatal diseases…
Noticeably, many patriotic emulation movements, namely “Well working, creatively working”, “Improving workmanship to meet requirements of integration and development”…in association of “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals”, were strongly promoted among laborers in the VSIP, contributing to increasing labor productivity and effectiveness.
In the last tenure, there were 4 individuals awarded the certificates of merit of the Prime Minister; 1.469 collectives and 4,573 individuals with the certificates of merit and 18 collectives with the emulation banners of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Dang Thi Kim Chi, Chairwoman of the VSIP’s Trade Union said that with concrete and practical activities, the Trade Union has won faith of laborers and trade union locals, contributing to building a strong organization.
To further uphold the above achievements, the VSIP’s Trade Union has set an action slogan: “Further improving operational contents, forms for laborers’ legitimate rights and interests, for Binh Duong’s sustainable development” in the 2018-2023 tenure. Accordingly, the overall objectives of the Trade Union are to improve operational contents, forms with focus on laborers; build a strong organization; set harmonious, stable and advanced labor relations, significantly contributing to sustainable socio-economic development, maintaining political security, social order-safety and ensuring an attractive investment climate for enterprises.
It is known that among 311 enterprises with trade union locals in the VSIP, there have been 98% of laborers with labor deals, 100% of trade union locals with working regulations, more than 90% of enterprises with payrolls and 44% enterprises with grassroots labor safety and hygiene councils.
