More than 700 unionists and youths from localities across the province yesterday gathered at Phu Cuong Park to join in the opening ceremony of Youth Month 2013.

Right after the opening speech was a boisterous drum call made by the provincial People’s Committee vice chairman Huynh Van Nhi to start the 2013 Youth Month.
Songs praising volunteer spirit, new initiative and intellectual of youths seemed to create more impetus for local young people.
The Youth Month is a significant deed, promoting volunteer spirit of youths and affirming role and position of young people for social development process.
Amid lively ambience overwhelming voluntary spirit of youths, Nguyen Thai Phuong, the unionist of Chanh Nghia ward Youth Union, said “In this year’s Youth Month, I will join in many volunteer activities such as street cleanliness, disabled children education…”.
With the motto of “Cultural behavior, civilized action”, the 2013 Youth Month will focus on urban and rural youths, young workers, unionists and youths and boarding house sub-unions. Therefore, the 2013 Youth Month will include many significant deeds of grasping Resolution of the national party congress, contributing ideas for the drafting of amendments to the 1992 Constitution, joining in urban civilized lifestyle building and environmental protection, holding “Green Sunday”, “Volunteer Saturday”, honoring typical youths, offering career consultancies and introducing jobs for youths, etc.
Mixing with the volunteer ambience of youths, Duong Nguyet Anh, the unionist of Hiep Thanh ward Youth Union, shared “The Youth Month is a good chance for unionists and youths to uphold their duty and role, contributing to the local cause of socio-economic development through significant activities such as volunteer blood donation, environmental hygiene, etc.”.
At the opening ceremony, Huynh Van Nhi head of the steering board of the 2013 Youth Month urged unionists and youths to study and follow Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples to dedicate their capacity to the society.
At the ceremony, the steering board of Thu Dau Mot city Month Youth put into use a youth work named “Job information and public ad” and started work on charity house for Nguyen Thi Lien in Hiep Thanh ward.
In addition, volunteer teams launched promulgations on environmental hygiene and made parades across streets.
