In a bid to ensure the rights of young factory workers and connect them with enterprises and social communities, Provincial Youth’s League has promoted the project of “unifying young factory workers in Binh Duong Province from 2011 to 2015” as part of its organization development among non-state enterprises.Enterprises develop by the help of Youth’s LeagueBen Cat District Youth’s League just held a ceremony to establish its grassroots in Nhan Nghia General Medical Clinic in My Phuoc Townlet with 30 members who are medicine doctors and nurses temporarily residing in the locality.

Accordingly, members of district executive board have sought for human resources to sustain establishment of its grassroots.Mr. Nguyen Van Sau, Secretary of Nhan Nghia General Medical Clinic Youth’s League expressed his delight to be a part of the Youth’s League in a non-state enterprise. This was his motivation to be fully engaged in local movements.By such encouragement, his organization was targeting to plenum participation of members and profession training.The project of “unifying young factory workers in Binh Duong Province from 2011 to 2015” and other programs of the Provincial Youth’s League have prompted districts, townlets, and Thu Dau Mot City to set up Youth’s League grassroots, especially the ones among enterprises.To facilitate understandings of the Youth League activities among non-state enterprisesMs. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of Provincial Youth’s League informed that before 2008, the developmental activities of the Youth’s League in enterprises have been facing challenges due to human resource shortage and weak orientation in non-state enterprises.Ever since 2008, the Provincial Youth’s League has consulted with Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People’s Committee to organize weeks of young factory workers and information dissemination movements to improve awareness among enterprises and social communities regarding the role of young factory workers and harmonious labor relation within the enterprises and their development versus the society.Through its grassroots in non-state enterprises, Provincial Youth’s League has organized activities to educate and take good care of young factory workers varying from free healthcare and medicine, law consultancy, and information dissemination about traffic safety as well as shopping events and gift offerings to young factory workers in difficult circumstances.The young factory workers of enterprises having organizational grassroots of Provincial Youth’s League are offered benefits and supports; however, the development seems to be limited and challenging.In non-state enterprises, especially the FDI ones, the awareness of Youth’s League grassroots establishment is limited. Besides, due to the greater picture of economic situations, enterprises have been struggling with their business affecting the off-working hours.According to Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, to remedy the challenges, coordination, programs, and projects should be integrated to take better care for young factory workers while building up the organization.Flexible regimes should be established in setting up the grassroots and clubs with orientation to bigger organizations and associations.Reported by Ngoc Nhu – Translated by Vi Bao
