A music show is held on Vietnamese Women’s Day.To mark the 80th anniversary of the Vietnamese Women’s Union, many activities for women took place across province. The contest on charming women took place at Di An Theatre on Oct. 20 evening. Through the contest, the organization wanted to affirm women’s role and glorify their beauty. Therefore, the contest lured 98 local contestants.

The representative board of the Chinese community in TDM town visited and presented VND45mln and 1.8 tons of rice to social support centers in the province, including provincial Center for Orphans, provincial General Hospital’s Charity Meal Group, provincial Center for the Lonely Elderly; provincial Vocational Training Center for the Disabled, provincial Blind Association and TMD town’s Blind Association.

The music show took place warmly with over 10 songs composed by the club musicians.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnamese Women Union (Oct.20), the Presidium of the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee in cooperation with the provincial Women Union held a get-together for leaders of Women Unions in the Southern region on Oct. 15.

To mark the 80th anniversary of Vietnamese Women Union, the provincial Women Union held many significant activities to lure the participation of cadres and members. The activities included contest on “Women and environment” attracting 70 contestants from 7 districts and townships across province, women’s singing festival luring 100 amateur actresses.

The provincial Women Union today holds a get-together for its cadres through stages on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam Women Union (Oct. 20, 1930-2010). Activities of women union have over years contributed to local development; Binh Duong Newspaper had an interview with Doan Thi Dieu Hien, chairwoman of the provincial Women Union about this issue.

In response to the mobilization of “Day for the poor”, the work of supporting the poor in Binh Duong province has over years brought significant deeds, helping the poor overcome difficulties.

 Provincial Businesswomen’s Club, on Oct.14, donated three houses of compassion to poor households of Nguyen Van Xi in Tan Uyen district’s Tan Phuoc Khanh township; Nguyen Thi Chuyen (photo) in Ben Cat district’s An Dien commune and Thuan An district’s Binh Nham commune.

The goods will be transferred to flood victims in early next week.   

In the morning of October 14, Provincial literature and art society held a seminar for its members on the stage of international integration and exchange. Professor Ca Le Thuan made his speech on literature and art development in a new stage along with assessment on national literature and its orientation as well as language of modern literature during international integration and exchanges. Professor Ca Le Thuan is now Deputy Chairman of Association of Literature and Art Societies in Vietnam and Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Art Society.

The provincial People’s Committee chairman Nguyen Hoang Son yesterday hosted a meeting on introducing project on railway planning. Accordingly, the project, Ha Noi-HCMC (Trang Bom depot); Di An-Loc Ninh (Chanh Luu depot); Sai Gon-My Tho-Can Tho (Tan An depot), will include 2 main measures of crossing Sai Gon river over district 12 or crossing National Highway No.13 over Thu Duc wholesale market.

According to the French Embassy in Vietnam, many famous French artists and directors will participate in the “Country in Focus” in the framework of the first international film festival in Vietnam to be held in Hanoi from October 17th to 21st 2010.
