Provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Thanh Liem yesterday visited and presented Tet gifts to 100 children with difficult circumstances in Thuan An town’s An Thanh ward and An Son commune.

Early January 10, Thuan An town’s Capital Aid Fund for Employment of the Poor (CEP) held a ceremony to present Tet gifts to poor households and members in Hung Dinh commune.

On January 1, Lotte Mart Binh Duong donated 350 gifts worth VND300,000 each, including cooking oil, rice, shampoo…, to the poor in Thuan An town’s Lai Thieu ward. These gifts were mobilized by Lotte Mart Binh Duong and its partner P&G Corporation.  

Under the Project of “Supporting poor youth to set themselves up in business, rise out of poverty”, provincial Youth Union and its affiliates last year mobilized resources to build 20 houses of compassion and 6 works on clean water with a total value of VND650mln for 20 young youth-headed households in the province.

In 2013, Phu Giao district’s Red Cross Society visited and presented 208 gifts worth VND67mln; presented 9 wheelchairs valued at VND15mln to the disabled and Agent Orange victims; built and donated 2 Red Cross houses with a total expense of VND85mln; mobilized and gave 2,626 gifts to poor people, those hit by natural disasters…with a total value of more than VND1.3bln.
