Binh Duong is not only a province with a robust industrial sector and one of the foremost regions in the country for attracting both domestic and foreign investment, but it is also progressing towards becoming a compelling destination for investors in the high-tech industrial sector.

Industrial production experienced significant growth
In 2025, Binh Duong aims to enhance the industrial sector as a key growth driver, targeting a 12% increase in the Industrial Production Index. To achieve these objectives, the Department of Industry and Trade is proactively addressing challenges and streamlining all phases of the investment, production, and business processes, thereby assisting enterprises in resuming production and contributing to economic growth.
In the initial five months of 2025, industrial production activities within the province have shown marked improvement. Enterprises have proactively sourced raw materials and secured numerous export orders, with many increasing production to meet both domestic consumption and export demands. Key industrial sectors in the province, including electronics, wood processing, machinery and equipment, as well as textiles and garments, have experienced a rise in new export orders. This development is a positive indicator that enhances industrial production activities in the region. Mr. Tu Lam Quan, General Director of TCL Company (Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park II), stated that the company is capitalizing on the "golden 90 days" (prior to the implementation of the new U.S. tax policy on Vietnamese goods) to optimize its export operations; restructure the value chain; address structural weaknesses; and transition to a sustainable growth strategy while diversifying markets and strengthening supply chains.
In May 2025, the province's Industrial Production Index is projected to rise by 16.34% compared to the same period in 2024, with a cumulative increase of 9.22% anticipated for the first five months of the year. The robust industrial production activities have generated positive signals for the province's economy. Recently, Binh Duong held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Cay Truong Industrial Park and the expansion of the Bau Bang Industrial Park (phase 2). To achieve the double-digit growth target in 2025, Binh Duong is resolutely committed to advancing its industrial sector as a key growth driver. In 2025, Binh Duong plans to establish 1-2 new industrial parks and 3-5 industrial clusters, with a focus on ecological industrial parks, high-tech industrial parks, and supporting industrial parks to lay the groundwork for a new generation industrial ecosystem that attracts more substantial investment.
To promote automation
Binh Duong aspires to establish itself as a smart manufacturing industrial hub, extensively integrating automation solutions into production processes to enhance productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness within the local industry. To achieve this objective, Binh Duong has been executing a range of cohesive strategies and solutions focused on investing in transportation infrastructure, advancing technology, cultivating high-quality human resources, and assisting businesses in researching and implementing new technologies to optimize production and management efficiency.
Department of Industry and Trade is presently assisting businesses in their transition to 4.0 technology, while also allocating a Science and Technology Fund to enhance production lines. Binh Duong is similarly concentrating on attracting investment in high-tech, environmentally sustainable industries, as well as in the science and technology sector and 4.0 technology. Additionally, the region is fostering collaboration with both domestic and international enterprises to exchange experiences, facilitate technology transfer, and broaden market access.
According to enterprises in the province, in order to align with the trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it is imperative for businesses to invest in modern equipment and machinery to enhance labor productivity. To date, numerous companies in Binh Duong have taken the lead in implementing advanced automation technologies within their production and business processes, thereby bolstering their competitiveness in the market. Mr. Jack Xu, General Director of Motomotion Vietnam Co., Ltd., noted that previously, businesses relied heavily on a large workforce to operate production lines. However, following investments in modern machinery and equipment, along with the integration of high technology and automation, only one engineer is now required to manage operations, resulting in significant improvements in both productivity and product quality, while also reducing production costs. Nonetheless, the adoption of modern technology and machinery in production necessitates that workers possess advanced technical skills and expertise to effectively master these innovations.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Luat, General Director of Cicor Vietnam, stated that the application of technology and scientific advancements is essential for Binh Duong to enhance labor productivity and offset rising labor costs for investors. To achieve this, Binh Duong must rapidly advance its scientific and technological capabilities, fostering innovation to attract investors to industries characterized by high technological content, significant added value, and minimal environmental impact, in conjunction with a strategy to promote industrial development and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Provincial leaders indicate that Binh Duong aspires to establish itself as a smart manufacturing industrial hub, extensively implementing advanced automation solutions in production. This initiative aims to enhance productivity, quality, efficiency, and the competitiveness of the local industry. Binh Duong is diligently preparing the necessary conditions to meet investor demands, thereby improving the effectiveness of collaboration and seizing opportunities presented by the fourth industrial revolution to attract quality foreign investment projects that promote sustainable development.
According to the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision extending to 2050, Binh Duong recognizes industry as the primary engine of growth. The province emphasizes the modernization of existing industries, the enhancement of localization rates in supporting sectors, and the advancement of high-tech industries, while actively engaging in the global value chain. Additionally, Binh Duong aims to cultivate ecological, modern, and high-tech industries, positioning the processing and manufacturing sector as a cornerstone of its economy. |
