On June 9, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired an online meeting with relevant localities to assess the progress of compensation and site clearance for the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway Project and Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4. Attending were leaders of relevant departments and agencies.
According to the report from the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, Component Project 1—site clearance for the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway—has a total land acquisition area of approximately 322.23 hectares. This will affect 1,651 households and organizations, with 194 cases expected to require resettlement.
As of now, the land recovery notification process has reached 85% completion and is expected to be finalized by June 2025. Measurement has reached 99% while inventory stands at 68%, with a completion target of June 2025. Currently, 11.6% of the total area has been handed over, and it is anticipated that by June 10, 2025, the remaining 1.2 km, comprising an area of 7.9 hectares of land in Bau Bang district, will be transferred.
For Component Project 1 regarding the site clearance for Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 from Thu Bien Bridge to the Saigon River, the expected land area to be acquired is 239.8 hectares, affecting approximately 1,451 households, of which about 300 will require resettlement. So far, the land recovery notification process has achieved 97% completion, while field measurement is at 53% and inventory at 52%; four localities have issued decisions approving land compensation unit prices.
On the Thu Bien - Dat Cuoc route, the previously implemented project has achieved 98.5% of its construction volume. However, there are still 12 households that have not yet handed over their land at the branch intersection with DT746 road.
For the additional extension serving the PPP Project of Ring Road 4 through the province, 100% of the measurement and inventory for an area of 28 hectares has been completed, affecting 158 households and six organizations. Compensation plans for the first and second phases have been approved, amounting to a total value of VND 168.9 billion.
In conclusion, Mr. Vo Van Minh emphasized the importance of compensation and site clearance as critical steps in the project implementation process. This is essential for meeting the set progress requirements. Therefore, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has urged relevant departments, branches, and localities to focus on their tasks with the highest sense of responsibility. They should effectively implement compensation plans, promptly address difficulties and obstacles, and engage the community to gain support for the policies. The province is committed to completing compensation and site clearance work to ensure the timely construction of key projects in the area.
