After 3 pilot months of driving license renewal via Internet, Vietnam Road General Department will apply this model at Departments of Transport from April 2015.
According to the Vietnam Road General Department, up to now, there have been nearly 1,000 driving licenses renewed via Internet. Every day, there are averagely 25-30 persons registering and renewing driving licenses of level 3 (online registration, making an appointment and completing procedures of driving license renewal after 2 hours). So far, this pilot model has received positive feedbacks from people.
Driving license renewal via Internet has been completed only at Vietnam Road General Department. This model will be applied nationwide in the near future. To prepare for this, the Vietnam Road General Department will pilot this model in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, before the nationwide application. Preparations for equipment, transmission lines, human resources, training, techniques transfer to localities have been carried out.
