In the period of industrialization and modernization of the country, the business community is seen as a force full of responsibility in the economic field, in which young entrepreneurs are pioneers in this field. Regarding this, there is no exception for young entrepreneurs in Binh Duong.

The Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) last year tapped 25,340 tons of rubber latex, up 15,000 tons of rubber latex compared to the projection; purchased 50,964 tons of rubber latex from small rubber plantations and sold 344,335 tons of rubber latex, up 7.6% of the projection. A a result, VRG reached VND30trillion in total revenue, VND8.5trillion in pre-tax profit; paid VND2.8trillion for State budget; generated stable jobs for 130,000 laborers with the average income of VND7.2mln per person per month.

Binh Duong Electricity Company last year coordinated with sectors and localities to speed up dissemination of information about electricity saving in accordance with the Direction 171 of Prime Minister of Government. As a result, Binh Duong saved 112 million kWh of electricity, equivalent to 1.73 % of commercial electricity output or 153% of the yearly plan.

Minh noted overseas remittances have constituted 60–70 percent of Vietnam’s foreign investment resources since 1991, greatly contributing to the national economy, assisting with foreign exchange rate stabilisation, and increasing foreign currency reserves.

According to Becamex IDC, the company strives to reach a 10% growth in 2013. Accordingly, Becamex IDC will focus on luring investment projects at industrial parks and reinforcing investment attraction.

The city is focusing on major port construction and upgrade projects including Cai Cui, Can Tho, and Tra Noc. It is also developing wholesales markets in Thot Not and Cai Rang districts, building the Tay Nguyen Plaza in Nam Hung Phu urban area, and erecting a 25-storey building in Cai Khe.
