With various industrial parks (IPs) already built or planned for future investment, Bau Bang district has identified green industry as its strategic path. Nguyen Phu Cuong, Chairman of Bau Bang district’s People's Committee shared that from the district's early days, it has determined to pursue clean, green and sustainable industrial development. The IPs maintain safe environmental distances and encourage a shift towards eco-industrial parks to reduce emissions and enhance resource efficiency. Enterprises are arranged by sectors to minimize environmental conflicts. Industries that are less polluting and use resources efficiently are prioritized for investment attraction.

In practice, IPs in Bau Bang district have developed their own environmental protection plans, covering waste collection, treatment and response to environmental incidents. Some pioneering companies are adopting clean production practices such as Fine Chemical Co., Ltd., which uses clean plastic pellets, emits no waste into the environment and recycles defective products on-site and Ampacs International Co., Ltd., which has invested in a closed-loop production line and implemented a circular model.
While Bau Bang focuses on clean industry and eco-industrial park development, Phu Giao district leverages its strength in high-tech, environmentally friendly agriculture. The district has over 870 production facilities applying high-tech practices in cultivation and livestock. According to the district's Agriculture and Environment Division, households are actively changing their farming practices and boldly adopting technologies such as growing melons in greenhouses, drip irrigation and fertigation, which save resources and protect soil. Many local agricultural models have met VietGAP standards and are moving towards organic farming.
According to provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, from planning directions to concrete actions, localities in the province are steadily transitioning towards better environmental protection. Despite their different economic structures, these localities share a common principle: Economic development must not come at the expense of the environment. When each locality, each business and each citizen joins hands, Binh Duong will not only be a leader in industrial development, but also a shining example of green economic growth in the Southern Key Economic Region. |
In parallel with agriculture, Phu Giao district is also planning for an eco-industrial cluster. The infrastructure of Tam Lap 2 Industrial Cluster is being synchronously developed, located far from residential areas with good transportation and environmental safety. The district also promotes organic production and integrates environmental contents into agricultural extension and vocational training programs. The combination of green agriculture and eco-industrial development is helping Phu Giao maintain a clean living environment and laying a solid foundation for sustainable economic development. To Van Dat, Chairman of Phu Giao district’s People's Committee emphasized: “The development of industrial clusters must go hand in hand with ecological preservation. The district prioritizes investment in agricultural product processing and supporting industries while limiting those with high pollution risks.”
Spreading green living spirit
Binh Duong is demonstrating strong commitment to environmental protection. From authorities to residents, from mass organizations to local communities, the spirit of green living is becoming increasingly widespread. To date, the province has established 99 self-managed environmental protection models in residential areas and religious establishments with 13,500 members; along with 604 environmental self-management teams in 587 residential areas that are being maintained and proving effective. Model initiatives such as encouraging civilized funeral practices, environmental sanitation and climate change adaptation have been well-received by local residents.

Across the province, creative and effective models continue flourishing. For example, Di An and Thuan An cities have implemented models for household solid waste sorting at source; Tan Uyen city and Dau Tieng district encourage households to plant and care for trees in front of their homes; Thu Dau Mot city promotes the “Each citizen plants at least one tree” campaign; Phu Giao and North Tan Uyen districts are expanding clean, green agriculture and aquaculture, making use of biogas systems while in Ben Cat city, waste sorting at source is being proactively adopted by local residents.
Mass organizations continuing playing a key role in promoting environmental protection initiatives. The Women's Union runs models such as “No Trash Streets,” “Green Roofs” and “Waste Recycling – Charity Rice Jars”; the Youth Union promotes “Green Offices”, “Green Boarding Houses” and “Beautiful Street Corners” which have contributed to the planting and care of over 1 million trees in the past five years and the development of nearly 500 bright-green-clean-beautiful roads; the Farmers’ Association implements models like “Trash-Free Residential Areas” and “Collecting Pesticide Packaging and Composting Organic Waste”; the Veterans’ Association maintains 510 environmental self-management teams; the Labor Union promotes the “Union Garden” movement, where each member plants at least one tree, creating eco-friendly spaces in industrial zones and residential areas.
Pham Van Bong, Director of provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment affirmed that communication on environmental protection is always a key and ongoing task. Training, competitions and the integration of environmental protection messaging into emulation movements have helped equip communities, especially young people and grassroots officials with knowledge and skills. Environmental protection efforts have been coordinated across the entire political system and society. The collaboration between provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations has created a strong synergy in raising awareness and changing community behaviors regarding environmental protection.
Pham Van Bong, Director of provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment: “The achievements in environmental protection and green development in recent years demonstrate the consistent, coordinated and focused collaboration among agencies, departments, localities, organizations and communities. With the united effort of the entire society, Binh Duong will continue leading the way in building a green - clean - beautiful living environment and become a desirable and sustainable place to live and develop”. |
