Establishing shared development space

The Southeastern region is a dynamic economic hub, with Ho Chi Minh (HCM) city serving as its core urban center. Therefore, collaboration and connectivity must focus on creating a shared development space that fosters the growth of the whole region. This approach will maximize the potential and advantages of each locality while jointly addressing major challenges, overcoming bottlenecks and resolving difficulties for the region’s collective progress. Cooperation should be strategic and targeted, with priority given to expanding and enhancing key trafffic networks in the immediate future…

The traffic infrastructure system plays a crucial role in socio-economic development and serves as a key indicator of the competitiveness of each locality, region and nation. Therefore, the traffic connectivity of each satellite locality and regional linkages should complement each other for mutual development. Thus, the planning of each locality must be placed within the overall framework of the region to formulate feasible and effective plans, strategies and solutions for implementation.

There has been a growing awareness of the position, role and importance of the Southeastern region. The provinces and cities within the region have actively innovated their mindset and vision, promoting dynamism and creativity in leadership and governance, achieving significant accomplishments in the socio-economic development of each locality.

Strengthening traffic connectivity between HCM city and other provinces in the region plays a decisive role in the economic growth rate of each locality and the region as a whole. To turn these goals and requirements into reality and make regional connectivity as a driving force for leveraging local strengths and fostering economic growth in the future, economic experts believe that it is essential to address challenges and bottlenecks in regional cooperation and connectivity among localities. Accelerating the construction of highways, belt roads, railways and expanding existing connecting roads will enhance traffic connectivity between localities, contributing to the expansion of new development spaces…

Raising many expectations for regional connectivity, HCM city and localities in the region have also paid close attention to the outcomes of bilateral cooperation efforts. Particularly, investing in the construction and completion of traffic infrastructure and regional connectivity aims at driving economic development. The timely completion of regional traffic projects is also expected to serve as key arterial routes, opening doors for interprovincial connectivity and creating a significant boost for the socio-economic growth of the Southeastern region.
