Provincial Red Cross Society mobilized organizations and individuals to contribute more than VND34bln for social charity activities in the first half of 2012.

Early July 27, Phu Giao district held a get-together for Vietnamese heroic mothers, the families of war invalids, martyrs, outstanding policy beneficiary families…on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.

Early July 27, Tan Uyen district’s Tan Vinh Hiep commune organized a get-together to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27,1947-July 27, 2012).

A candle-lighting ceremony in tribute to heroes and martyrs on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs was organized at provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery on the evening of July 26. Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese heroic mothers; provincial Party Committee Permanent Deputy Secretary cum provincial People’s Council Chairman Vu Minh Sang; provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Huynh Van Nhi together with leaders of the province’s sectors and mass organizations.

*To mark the 65th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, since early this year, Ben Cat district has built 22 gratitude houses worth more than VND2bln and upgraded 51 others with a total expense of more than VND1.5bln; donated 100 gifts worth VND1.5mln to the families of war invalids and martyrs…The district’s mass organizations, communes and township have also organized many activities in tribute to heroes and martyrs, including art performances, gift visits…

Since early this year, provincial Businesswomen’s Club has mobilized its members to raise VND200mln for social charity activities.

A delegation of doctors from My Phuoc General Hospital yesterday provided free medical check-ups and medicine for 100 social policy beneficiary families and those who rendered service to the revolution in Dau Tieng district’s An Lap commune (photo) to mark the War Invalids and Martyrs’Day (July 27).

A delegation from provincial Anti-Fire Policy Agency and the HCM city-based 4/10 Fire Fighting and Prevention Co.Ltd., led by Huynh Van Quy-Deputy Director of provincial Anti-Fire Police Agency, provided free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts worth VND300,000 each for 100 social policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged people in Dau Tieng district’s Dinh Thanh commune on the morning of July 24 (photo). 

An exhibition of 300 portraits of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers painted by Dang Ai Viet opened at the Vietnam Women’s Museum on July 24.

Ben Cat district’s Youth Union has just cooperated with the People’s Committee of Hung Hoa commune to hand over a charity house to Tong Van Manh, a poor youth in hamlet 1.

Provincial Red Cross Society, on July 23, visited and presented gifts worth VND600,000 each to five Vietnamese heroic mothers, including Nguyen Thi Lun in Tan Uyen district, Nguyen Thi Sau in Thuan An town, Nguyen Thi Hai and Nguyen Thi Huynh in Di An town and Ho Thi Thang (photo) in Ben Cat district on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs’Day (July 27).

More than 4,000 blood donors on July 22 formed a huge drop of blood with the national flag at the centre.
