Phu Cuong ward’s Red Cross Society, on May 9, held a get-together to mark the 150th anniversary of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement; the 150th anniversary of the International Red Cross Committee and Red Cross-Red Crescent Day (May 8, 1863-May 8, 2013).

At 18pm of last Saturday, hundreds of young workers gathered in Di An ward’s Thong Nhat 2 quarter to attend a program named “Going along with young workers” with many significant activities, including a competition on environmental protection.

Like Hang, Tran Van Quyet from the Northern province of Nghe An, has made greater efforts to take care for his family. His father is paralyzed in body, as the third child of a 5 children family, Quyet has to take care for his whole family. Quyet added that he and poor alien young workers have enjoyed special attention from the steering board of Week for Young Workers. This is really a bridge for poor alien young workers to overcome difficulties.

According to him, to reach the set goals, it is necessary to make greater efforts and to work diligently. He has worked for the plantation since 2009 at the age of 22. he shared “Born and grown up in this land, when I was a child, I often helped my parents work at rubber plantations, so I get acquainted with works relating to rubber latex tapping”.

The remains of 29 volunteer Vietnamese soldiers and experts, killed on battlefield in Laos, were reburied at the central Thua Thien-Hue province’s martyrs’ cemetery on May 9.
