In 2013, Phu Giao district’s Farmers Society teamed up with relevant agencies to open 135 training courses on sci-tech transfer for 8,797 farmers, helping raise their economic efficiency in cultivation and animal husbandry.
The district’s Farmers Society also organized 32 seminars on how to tend crop plants and animals with the participation of 2,250 farmers; held 6 tours to effective production models in and out of the province with the participation of 100 farmers; coordinated with the district’s Plant Protection Station to implement 26 integrated pests management (IPM) points on vegetables & crops, rubber and pepper trees.
In addition, the society organized 3 training courses on growing safe vegetables under Vietgap standards with 1,800 participants; implemented a model of growing safe vegetables in a net-covered house in combine with automatic water spraying system; held a talk show on measures to tend and control over diseases in pepper trees in the season change period with the participation of 100 members; joined hands with the district’s Agricultural Promotion Station to realize 111 tentative points on intensive farming techniques…
