15 growing area codes and 8 packing codes for agricultural products granted

In 2022, the province was granted 15 planting area codes by the Plant Protection Department, including: 12 area codes for growing mangosteen, bananas and jackfruit for export to the Chinese market and 3 area codes for growing pomelos for export to markets in EU, the UK and Russia. Currently, the department is proposing to grant 13 growing area codes for banana, jackfruit and longan products for export to the markets of China, Thailand, EU, the U.S, Australia and New Zealand. The Plant Protection Department has also issued 8 packing codes for banana and jackfruit products, exported to the Chinese market and is proposing to grant 3 packing codes for exporting durian and jackfruit to the Chinese market.

In addition, the agricultural sector has guided enterprises producing food with plant origin to register for export to China under the Order 248 of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC). Up to now, there have been 2 exporters registering the phytosanitary certification to complete export documents. The sector is also continuing guiding unregistered enterprises to further register relevant information under the GACC’s regulations ahead of June 30, 2023.
