Rubber latex price at high level
In recent years, small-sized rubber plantations have upheld their basic advantages and contributed to improving the lives of the local rural people. The whole province is now home to nearly 130,000 ha of rubber, 65% of which are small-sized rubber plantations with 70% of total area under exploitation. Rubber now becomes a main plant of the local agricultural sector, due to easy cultivation and hi-economic value. With the price of VND500 per degree over the past two years, the local rubber growers could earn nearly VND100mln in profit per ha. This has contributed to improving the lives of the local rural people. With the price of VND900 per degree, they will get higher income from their rubber plantations this year.
Before predictions that the rubber latex price will further maintain at high level, many rubber growers have spent more money on tending their rubber plantations. The development of small-sized rubber plantations in recent years has absorbed many people. But, there are still shortcomings in the tasks of tending and exploiting rubber plantations for change. The local rubber growers have also face difficulties in terms of transportation and consumption of their rubber latex.
Devaluation and diseases are two main worries of the local rubber growers.
