At present, many enterprises have completed production plans to increase supply of commodities, especially essential items for the year-end. The total capital for goods supply is estimated at over VND504bil (excluding petrol). It is forecasted that this year’s goods volume will be very plentiful with the stabilized prices.
According to the provincial department of Trade and Industry, essential items for this year include processing foods, rice, sugar, cooking oil, beverage and among others. The department asked businesses participating in the market stability program to ensure adequate supply of goods.
However, makers and retailers have worried about purchasing power. Experts said that since the start of this year, purchasing power is not high from the same period last year, so they do not worry about shortage of goods.
Nguyen Huu Khanh, manager of Citimart Binh Duong shared “It is difficult to assess this year’s purchasing power. We are therefore very careful in importing commodities. We do not worry about shortage of goods, because we have provision plans”.
To offer adequately goods for the Tet market, many enterprises still prepare countless goods, a double increase from the entrusted goals.
“To prepare goods for Tet market, our company has plans to ensure adequate supply of goods. In addition, we reserve over 10 million eggs to ready for service”, said Pham Thanh Hung, director of Ba Huan Co.Ltd.
The year-end is the time of price hike, causing obstacles for producers and customers. Therefore, distributors have actively linked with producers and strategic partners to prepare goods sources for the year-end shopping.
Sharing experiences of preparing commodities, Binh Duong Co.opMart director Vo Huu Thach, said “After many years of goods stability, Co.opMart has since June signed contracts with companies and farmsteads to adequately enjoy essential goods. To ensure goods sources, we provide makers for deposits to help them prepare materials. Now, many items are waiting for shoppers”.
To prepare for the year-end shopping, businesses have enjoyed an assistance of capital worth of over VND67bil from the budget to cater for the market stability programs. Specifically, Co.opMart Binh Duong has prepared sources of commodities equivalent to over VND30bil, TDM Investment and Service Trade Company VND7.7bil. Supermarkets such as Big C, Metro Cash & Carry… have prepared goods with the double volume from ordinary days.
