Export market on thriving

According to a report by province-based industries’ associations, the province’s main export markets like the U.S, EU, Japan…showed signs of recovery and were on the momentum of the growth. Vietnam’s efforts to complete negotiations about the Trans Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement by the end of 2013 become a motivation for main export markets to bravely sign new export contracts with Vietnam, especially those in the field of garment and textile.

Binh Duong’s export turnover in 2013 was estimated at more than US$14.443mln, up 15.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2012 or 98% of the year’s plan. Noticeably, the province’s export industry saw a growth of hi-tech products and those with higher added value at large-scale enterprises. Hence, industrial production only grew by 15.1% while export turnover saw a growth of over 15.7%.

The province’s main export products like footwear, electronics, garment & textile…still continued maintaining their growth. Although seeing a reduction in the price compared to the corresponding period of 2012, the province’s export agricultural products reached a growth in quantity…

In general, Vietnam’s export industry was thriving, but faced difficulties in neighboring countries. This was mentioned at an international seminar themed “Tay Ninh-the gateway for trade development between Vietnam-Cambodia and Laos”.

Strengthening competitiveness, expanding market

Vietnam now develops investment ties with more than 200 countries and territories in the world and is one of the world’s exporters in terms of rice, coffee, fisheries, garment and textile…Many other export products like furniture, electronic components, power cables… also reached a robust growth over the past time.

For Vietnam’s export picture in 2014 getting more thriving, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has put forward measures on export support, especially associated consumption markets with products. Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Nguyen Cam Tu instructed: “For Vietname’s export products further affirming their position, foreign commercial departments will have coordination with localities, enterprises…to continue supporting trade promotion, seeking contracts to ensure growth”.

Binh Duong in 2014 will continue carrying out many key projects, including the Project on implementation of the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade; Measures to improve product quality and productivity of small and medium-sized enterprises in the 2011 and 2015 period; Plan on Logistics Development in the 2011 and 2015 period…With the above efforts, it is hoped that Binh Duong’s export industry will reach new development steps…

Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang said that despite economy facing difficulties, Binh Duong was still in the list of top localities in growth in the region and whole country. This came from the efforts by province-based enterprises. So far, Binh Duong has built up many famous trademarks, including Minh Long porcelain and they are now the pride of Vietnam.

Whilst, according to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Cam Tu, Vietnam will continue creating favorable conditions for enterprises to seek export markets and consolidate ties with their partners…
