In the face of many various sources of information on alternation of bird flu virus and efficiency of many kinds of vaccines, the provincial Veterinary Bureau has had careful preparation on all areas for the second phase of bird flu vaccination 2012.
The thorough preparation on human resources and material resources was a basic factor for the vaccination work’s high results. Reportedly, results of avian flu vaccination in Binh Duong have reached more than 96%.
Ta Trong Khang, vice head of the provincial Veterinary Bureau, said the top element for high results of the vaccination work lies in promulgation for residents and training for veterinary cadres at all levels. In addition, work of inventory of the number of poultries at households is also a factor for increasing the vaccination’s efficiency.
Thanks to well implementation of promulgation, breeders’ awareness on bird flu vaccination has been raised. These results have helped the vaccination work finalize ahead of schedule.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, kinds of epidemics on cattle and poultry have become complicated from now till the end of this year. In the face of this situation, the provincial Veterinary Bureau will focus on control of epidemics on cattle and poultry as well as transport of cattle and poultry to the province.
“Right after the 2nd phase vaccination, we will launch sterilization across poultry and cattle breeding workshops and markets. The whole province now has over 40 slaughter houses. In order to assure food safety and hygiene on Tet holiday, the bureau will control closely operation of slaughter houses. In addition, we will spur investigation at veterinary stations to prevent illegal poultry import into the locality”, Khang said.
