The provincial People’s Committee and Becamex IDC just broke ground 3 key works of DT742, DT746 and DT747 roads with the total length of 57km in Tan Uyen district. It would cost a total VND4tril under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) form. To shrink time of toll collection and hasten local and regional economic development, the Committee shared responsibility by contributing over 50% of project capital for compensation and site clearance in a bid to help launch and complete the project on time.

Over years, upgrading DT742, DT746 and DT747 roads in the district to link with inter-district and inter-provincial and inter-regional routes faced many obstacles with reasons of capital shortage, capacity shortage. this impacted on local residents’ will and confidence for leaders.

Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony, Nguyen Van Hung both the provincial Party Committee’s standing committee member and investor of the project showed reasons and opportunities of “next investors” for the district infrastructure facility investment. “Binh Duong’s socio-economic development at a high rate in the past years has been advantages and challenges in the coming time. improving infrastructure facilities and adjusting planning as well as renovating managerial method are necessary for a modern industrial city”, stressed Hung.
According to Hung, it’s time for the district to tap its potentials by investing in the project, suiting popular opinion.
Breakthrough for development
once completed, the 3 routes will make up a linkage between Tan Uyen district and 6 provincial districts and townships and open a traffic way between Binh Duong and the Southern key economic zone’s provinces and cities, attaching national traffic network with big cities, ports and airports. the provincial People’s Committee vice chairman Tran Van Nam shared, “I were very interested in the routes as I were the district secretary. I took advantages to learn experiences of other localities for the sake of local development”.
Meanwhile, the provincial vice chairman Le Thanh Cung, said the routes show their scale, so we need to have a wide road, leading to big centers, ports, airports to decrease costs, raise competition for business community”.
Aside from linkage with road system by bridges of Thanh Hoi, Bach Dang and Thu Bien, the 3 routes will link with waterway road system in general and D war-base in particular.
Not only investing in traffic infrastructure facility, Binh Duong has upheld potentials and natural advantages of Sai Gon and Dong Nai Rivers, creating sustainable development for local residents.
