Born and grown up in a land with full of orchards, Trung has possessed a mangosteen garden under harvest. To improve income, Trung has planted some other fruit trees such as longan, banana, grapefruit and so on. However, mangosteen garden gives an unstable income, owing to dependence on weather and price. He said that magosteen garden can not help him make wealth. As a good farmer in production, Trung always seeks out effective economic models in conformity with his family’s economic condition.
In 2012, thanks to assistance of Thuan An town agricultural promotion and plant protection stations, Trung invested in models of planting orchid and raising ornamental fish. To achieve real experiences for the two models, Trung had to arrive at other orchid and ornamental fish farms inside and outside of the province.
Trung’s ornamental fish model promises a high income source.
Based on real experiences and reference documents, Trung has drawn precious experiences for himself. With 80sqm of land, he spent VND20mil to plant orchid and additional VND20mil to raise ornamental fish. With high determination, he has managed to gain success on both models. Trung shared “I can believe that I have chosen right economic models. These are models bringing high economic efficiency”.
With about 500 orchid pots, he has earned VND50mil from his orchid garden. Meanwhile, his ornamental fish model promises a big profit because this model gives a double income from orchid model.
According to Trung, to gain success on these models, it requires farmers to have ambition and determination.
