He added, cage for this animal is very simple and their food includes termite, cricket and other insects. Aside from breeding gecko, he breeds crickets. After 35-40 days of breeding, he earns about VND50,000 from selling crickets.

Breeding cricket is to use this animal as gecko’s food source. Gecko is very healthy and lays about 20 eggs per year. After 6-7 months of breeding, gecko prices about VND200,000 per kg. This animal’s consumption source is very huge including restaurants and exports to China.
Nguyen Xuan Thai, chairman of Dinh Hiep commune Farmers’ Society, said the society’s members have invested in economic models of breeding snake, crocodile, frog, varan… These models are in good operation and bring high profit. The models of breeding gecko and cricket promise a high result.
