After struggling time for the national independence and freedom, coming back to the normal life, many veteran soldiers have continued to promote qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" to overcome all difficulties, better their life, contribute to building prosperous homeland. Veterans Bui Tan Thanh living in An Thanh ward, Thuan An town is an example.
After 5 years of joining the Southeastern battlefield, in 1977, Mr. Ban was demobilized and returned home with his family. At that time, he faced numerous family economic difficulties. But thanks to determination and bravery of a soldier, he escaped from poverty, enriched his family on the homeland.

Mr. Ban improved almost 3,000m2 of family land to grow rice, ensuring enough food for the family year round. In 1981, he married; then 3 sons came out. Economic condition of the family became more difficult due to the increase of family member number.
After many sleepless nights to think, he asked local Veterans’ Association to introduce him for loans taking at Social Policy Bank. The association agreed, then he borrowed VND10 million to purchase 1 cow for breeding. To have knowledge of cow husbandry, he studied through books, magazines, training classes organized by Farmers’ Association, and learned experiences from successful farmers. He also utilized his land to grow grass to feed cow, reducing costs. Thus, his cows grew fast and gave much milk.
At the present, he has 10 cows including 7 milking ones. Each cow gives 20kg of milk/day with a price of VND13,500/liter, bring a monthly income of VND17-20 million.
