Early March 6, provincial People’s Committee Chairman Le Thanh Cung had a working session with Mr.Yasuo Nishitohge-General Director of Aeon Vietnam Co.Ltd. under the Japan-based Aeon Group-one of the world’s top retailers, investor of the Aeon Binh Duong trade center project with a total investment capital of US$95mln in Thuan An town.
Mr.Yasuo Nishitohge said that thanks to the attention of provincial leaders and sectors, the project has been implemented on schedule. It is expected that the Aeon Binh Duong trade center will be put into operation on November 1, 2014.
Also according to him, HCM city-based Aeon trade center has effectively operated with around 30,000 visitors on normal days and 70,000 visitors at weekend. Following this trade center, Binh Duong-based Aeon trade center will be put into operation in 2014 and Ha Noi-based Aeon trade center will be also operational in 2015. Till 2020, there will be 20 Aeon trade centers in Vietnam.
Mr.Cung said that the Aeon Binh Duong trade center project of the Japan-based Aeon Group was suitable to the province’s strategy on trade-services development in association with urban development. Located at the center of the province and the region, the project would contribute to meeting the shopping demand of people and enterprises in Binh Duong and neighboring localities when being put into operation. Hence, the province would help the investor remove difficulties in the process of realizing the project.
