Agricultural sector surmounts difficulties

Production development is one of the province’s major tasks and this is also seen as a foundation for the local new-style rural construction. Accordingly, many synchronous solutions have been implemented, creating a favorable environment for farmers to further promote production, enriching themselves on homeland.

Surmounting difficulties

Since early this year, the province’s agricultural sector has managed to overcome difficulties from Covid-19 and other epidemic diseases. The local agricultural production has continued being maintained and fostered towards quality, value and competitiveness enhanced.

Upon the above thing, the province’s sector of agriculture and rural development has focused on realizing the local program on agricultural development towards restructuring; boosted the shift of agricultural structure and new-style rural construction; carried out management on food safety in production areas; guided farmers, cooperatives, enterprises how to carry out production models under VietGAP standards, hi-tech application; strengthened prevention of diseases, especially A/H5N1 avian influenza, DTHCP… in crop plants and animals.

Synchronous solutions

During the local new-style rural construction process, the province has always attached special importance to production development, constantly improving the income of people in the rural region. Accordingly, the income of people in the rural region of the province has been improved constantly. As of late 2019, their average income was VND60million per person and there were 100% of communes meeting the criterion of income. The rate of poor households under the province’s new poverty line reduced to 1.62% of total…

The above results came from the province’s efforts in taking synchronous solutions for production development. The province is now home to hi-tech agricultural parks, farmers under VietGAP standards, safe vegetables-growing cooperatives…The whole province has a total of more than 580 hectares of farming land for organic production, including 250 hectares of citrus fruit trees, more than 25 hectares of vegetables and 258 hectares of other fruit trees. For pomelo, there are more than 115 hectares with the average productivity of 15-20 tons per hectare per year with the annual income of VND600million per hectare. There are also 260 hectares of orange with the average productivity of 40-60 tons per hectare per year with the annual income of around VND1.2billion per hectare. The province’s safe vegetables-growing models have also brought farmers hi-tech economic efficiency…

Nguyen Van Thuong, Vice-Chairman of Bau Bang district’s People’s Committee said that the district’s agricultural sector has continued being developed in the right direction. The district has also implemented a project on agricultural development and new-style rural construction in association with ecotourism development, constantly improving the local economic efficiency.

Whilst, Pham Van Bong, Director of provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the sector will further strengthen its restructuring with productivity, quality and economic efficiency improved. Accordingly, the sector will continue making the shift of plant structure in line with the local advantages and market’s demand and climate change; follow hard on the development of weather, market information in order to have timely adjustment for production plans…
