Thanks to the timely attention and support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development together with the drastic instruction of provincial leaders, the province’s sector of agriculture and rural development has basically reached stable development, significantly contributing to the local socio-economic development.
Positive results
In the 2016-2020 period, the province’s agricultural sector gained positive changes, greatly contributing to the local cause of new-style rural construction, improving the lives of people.

The province’s agricultural fields under restructuring got a very strong change over the past time. For cultivation, many households were proactive to apply sci-tech advancements into production for hi-economic efficiency. Accordingly, there were 115 hectares of pomelo with the average productivity of 15-20 tons per hectare per year and the average income of around VND600million per hectare per year; 260 hectares of orange with the average productivity of 40-60 tons per hectare per year and the average income of VND1.2billion per hectare per year…
Provincial Plant Protection and Cultivation sub-Department also implemented some models on growing organic vegetables in a net-house system with the average productivity of around 15 tons per hectare per crop. So far, the province has formed up hi-tech agricultural parks, farmsteads under VietGAP standards, safe vegetables cooperatives…The whole province is now home to more than 580 hectares for organic cultivation with various plants, including 250 hectares of fruit citrus trees, more than 25 hectares of vegetables and 259 hectares of other fruit trees.
In addition, the province attached special importance to agricultural restructuring in association with new-style rural construction; focused on luring investors in agriculture-rural development, seeking consumption markets for agricultural products. Till now, the province’s total investment capital for new-style rural construction program has amounted to more than VND25trillion. Noticeably, all projects on basic construction of the new-style rural construction program were implemented in accordance with the Law on public investment, so the province had no more debts in basic construction of the program.
Improving agricultural value
In 2019, the province’s agro-forestry-fishery production value surged 4% compared to that of 2018 or 2.6% of the local economic structure. There were more than 5,300 hectares of farming land with hi-tech application. The province’s animal husbandry models with hi-tech application continued gaining development. As of late 2019, the province had 100% of communes, 1 district and 2 towns fulfilling new-style rural construction, contributing to improving the lives of people in rural areas.
Pham Van Bong, Director of provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that 2020 is the final year for the province to fulfill its five-year plan on agricultural development. Hence, the province’s agricultural sector will further focus on building up modern agriculture with added value increase towards sustainable development in association with civilized new-style rural construction. In 2020, the sector will strive to reach a growth of 4% in agro-forestry-fishery production value compared to that of 2019. Accordingly, the sector will continue strengthening restructuring, enhancing productivity, quality of agricultural products; further improve agricultural models with focus on cooperation in production and consumption under value chains. In terms of rural development, the province will attach special importance to effectively realizing the new-style rural construction program under an advanced criteria set of the program.
Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that the province will further strengthen agricultural restructuring, enhance the productivity, quality of agricultural products and the effectiveness of production-business; effectively realize the national target program on new-style rural construction under a set of advanced criteria; boost sci-tech application in production, develop and improve the quality of human resources…
