All-level authorities and sectors effectively implement prevention of animal diseases

According to the survey data from the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Fisheries, as of March 5, 2025, the total buffalo population in the province was 1,758, the total cattle population was 15,254, the total pig population was 832,646, and the total poultry population exceeded 13.5 million. In the first quarter of 2025, livestock facilities and households in the province supplied the market with 5,717 buffaloes and cattle, amounting to 457.3 tons; 693,199 pigs, totaling 51,989.9 tons; 8,191,832 poultry, equivalent to 17,102.8 tons; and 172 goats, amounting to 2.1 tons.

In the first quarter of 2025, the efforts to prevent and control epidemics in livestock and poultry were effectively executed by the authorities and localities within the province; there were no outbreaks among livestock and poultry, nor were there incidents of rabies in dogs and cats, or diseases affecting aquatic products. Notably, while African swine fever was reported in certain farms, the situation was managed in accordance with regulations, preventing any significant emergence or spread. Additionally, the authorities and localities enhanced their initiatives to combat plant pests, promptly assessing the situation and proactively implementing measures to control the epidemic, resulting in a mild to moderate level of infection.
