8x or “Generation 8x” is a Vietnamese term referring to people, who were born in the 1980s. They are young ones with industriousness, eagerness to learn, and venturesomeness.
Tran Ngoc Hien is a young person belonging to 8x generation (was born in 1985), and living at My Hao 1 quarter, Chanh My ward, TDM City. She has deployed many new breeding models to get rich on her homeland. She has been a good example of the movement of young people setting up themselves in Chanh My ward.

After graduating Veterinary vocational school, she began to develop breeding with investments from her family and local Youth Union’s supporting fund. She raised firstly 10 goats to get meat. After 5 years, she has now 150 goats. Annually, she sells 80 – 100 goats with an average price of VND3mln for each one. Annual profit after costs is over VND200mln.
Hien said: “Raising goat is rather easy, they uasually eat grass, vegetables, and bran. At first, my goats got diseases, because I lacked experiences. After attending training courses organized by Chanh My ward, my goats’ condition was improved. Currently, the number of goat is increasing each year”.
Additionally, Hien also plants flowers, rears fish, cow, and gets annual revenue of VND150mln. She received Luong Dinh Cua award because she can setting up herself. She is good at not only getting rich but also participating activities of the Union, and is a good example for young people to follow.
