An Dien is changing…

As a gateway to the center of Ben Cat district, An Dien commune is seen as a potential land for economic development. The gradual change of An Dien shows that the local economy is on strong development.

Shift in agricultural structure

An Dien commune’s economy now sees a diversified development with many models on agriculture, industrial manufacture, trade and services that are very animated. Noticeably, there is a surprise change for agricultural production with diversification of nurslings and breeding animals. The street connecting An Dien, My Phuoc and An Tay is built very speciously

Along with rubber trees, many local farmers have bravely made the shift of plant structure for better results in agricultural production. Nguyen Thanh Tuan is a typical example for this. In 2000, he chopped down 2 hectares of rubber trees for rice cultivation. Many other farmers also got involved in rice cultivation. As a result, many rice fields have loomed large across the commune, bringing great benefit to “adventurers” like Nguyen Thanh Tuan

According to the People’s Committee of An Dien commune, rice fields herein reaches stable and high productivity. “On average, farmers in An Dien commune frequently harvest 4.5 tons or 5 tons /hectare for a paddy crop”, said Nguyen Thi Tuyet Loan, Chairwoman of An Dien communal People’s Committee.

After researching conditions on weather and soil, many farmers in An Dien commune have also bravely made investment in various perennial trees, fruit trees, vegetables and crops, bringing high economic efficiency. That’s reason why more than 60% of people in the commune now earn their living by agricultural production.

Infrastructure improved

An Dien commune’s cause of infrastructure construction was basically perfected as of late July 2013. The commune’s concentrated administrative system is being built with a total area of 6 hectares. Many main streets connecting with other localities and rural traffic works have also been commenced for construction. Accordingly, since 2010, An Dien commune has built 4 asphalt-covered streets of more than 7km with a total expense of VND4.7bln.

To quickly perfect the local infrastructure, the People’s Committee of An Dien commune has put forward many ideas to build 8 inter-communal and hamlet roads. The plan for this is being considered for implementation. Regarding the local infrastructure construction, Mrs.Loan said that thanks to propaganda and mobilization work well implemented, 100% of the local people have agreed and got ready to donate their land for making rural roads. The consensus is a basic for the faith that An Dien will have a perfect infrastructure to well serve the local socio-economic development in the future.

The whole commune is now home to 64 companies in the industries of paper, woodwork, animal feed…, generating jobs for 1,500 laborers. According to the report by the People’s Committee of An Dien commune, 20% of people herein earn their living by industry and small industry. The commune’s trade sector has also reached robust growth.
