From an agricultural locality with difficulties, An Tan commune in Ben Cat town has got thriving in economy with the lives of people improved obviously.
Well tapping potential
Over the past time, An Tay commune was a locality with fast growth in industrial manufacture. The commune is now home to 3 industrial parks (Ips) with more than 200 companies and many production-business facilities outside the Ips, generating jobs for more than 25,000 laborers.
All rural roads in An Tan commune are covered by asphalt and concrete, facilitating the local people’s traveling and trade activities
Along with industrial, home industrial manufacture, trade-services, the commune has also attached special importance to agricultural production. The commune’s rice-growing area is more than 300 hectares with the average yield of the spring-winter crop from 5.5 tons to 6 tons per hectare or 100% of the set target. There are also 440 hectares of rubber trees, 107 hectares of fruit trees and 3 hectares of aquaculture and other vegetables and crops.
The commune now has 2 cooperatives on transportation and 7 cooperative groups on breeding mother cows, tending apricot trees, rubber trees… with 82 participating households. All the cooperatives and cooperative groups have worked stably and effectively.
In addition, the communal People’s Committee has created favorable conditions for the local people to get jobs at firms in and out of the locality. This has helped the local people’s incomes increase constantly. Particularly, the average income of the local people was VND20million in 2012, VND25.1million in 2013, VND30million in 2014 and VND43.52million in 2015 and nearly VND64million in 2019.
Nguyen Van Chung, Secretary of An Tay commune’s Party Committee said that in order to achieve the above result, the communal Party Committee and People’s Committee over the past time made efforts in absorbing investors in industrial, home industrial manufacture and trade-services, thereby promoting the local economy with positive changes…
Effectiveness upheld
To uphold achievements done, An Tay commune will further take solutions to bring into full play inner force among people; well tap the local existing advantages in order to build up a locality with vigorous economic development, political stability…The commune will also strive to gain the growth of 10% in industrial, home industrial production value and the growth of 10% in the number of households getting involved in trade-services…in 2020.
In the coming time, the commune will also continue supporting the local people in application of sci-tech advancements into aquaculture, agricultural production; encourage them to buy the state-of-the-art equipment for production, make the shift of the local economic structure towards industrialization and modernization . In addition, the commune will further maintain the local area for growing fruit trees, create favorable conditions for the development of agricultural economic models in association with ecotourism along Saigon river; focus on animal husbandry and improve the quality of domestic animals, especially pig, cows and chickens, well make prevention of diseases in domestic animals; advocate the development of the “State-scientist-enterprise and farmer” linkage models in production and consumption…
In the 2020-2025 tenure, An Tan communal Party Committee has set some targets, including further promoting the local economy towards industrial development in association with hi-quality urban, trade-service development; making the shift of agricultural structure towards acceleration of sci-tech application in association with ecotourism; ensuring social welfare, improving the material and spiritual lives of people; getting 100% of households in use of clean water and national power grid; maintaining 100% of national standard schools…
