Thanks to the efforts by the local Party, government and people, the image of An Tay commune in Ben Cat town has changed a lot after seven-year implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction. Noticeably, the commune’s system of rural and in-field roads has been covered by asphalt or concrete, contributing to the local economic development.

Realizing the importance of rural traffic in socio-economic development, over the past years, An Tay commune in Ben Cat town actively implemented the movement of making rural roads under the motto of “the State and people work together”.

In the period of 2016-2018, the commune has mobilized people to donate more than 23,478 square meters of land, fruit trees, crops, working days and many other works to making the local rural roads. Accordingly, since 2016, the commune has upgraded 53 rural roads with a total cost of more than VND19billion.
Nguyen Ngoc Hanh, residing in Lo O hamlet said that coming to An Tay today, everyone will feel quick changes of an agricultural locality with many roads covered asphalt that are very clean and nice. The income of the local people has also been improved. Particularly, the average income per capita of the local people in 2017 was VND46.21million per capita and the figure is expected to reach more than VND54million this year.
Traffic infrastructure perfected
The whole commune now has 36 alleys of around 21.4 kilometers. All of them are upgraded, facilitating the local people’s demand for traveling. There are also 4 roads of 23.1 kilometers upgraded. Among them, the 7A road is a large-scale work with lighting, verdure, pavement and traffic sign systems…, making the local image get more thriving and contributing to improving the local people’s life. In 2018 alone, the commune has planned to upgrade 11 roads of 4,700 meters and total capital estimated at more than VND12.77billion.
According to the local leaders, under the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the commune has obtained vigorous development. The commune’s rural infrastructure has been invested in a synchronous way, basically changing the local image and facilitating the local people’s economic development.
Tran Minh Hieu, Chairman of An Tay communal People’s Committee said that thanks to the support of the State and the efforts by people, the commune now has additional clean and nice roads, contributing to perfecting and improving the quality of criteria on new rural construction. Along with rural roads, many essential infrastructure works like school, health station, market…in the commune are built towards standardization.
Possibly seeing, effectively realizing the movement of making rural roads in the commune over the past years actively contributed to changing the local rural image, step by step creating a traffic network connecting communes, hamlets…
