Applying biotechnology for sustainable national development

Provincial People’s Committee has just issued the Decision No. 919/QD-UBND to implement the Government's Resolution and provincial Party Standing Committee’s Program on the development and application of biotechnology for sustainable national development in the new context. Accordingly, in the second quarter of 2025, provincial departments and sectors, the People's Committees of districts and cities will organize research and dissemination of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW, the Government’s Resolution No. 189/NQ-CP, provincial Party Standing Committee’s Program No. 171-CTr/TU to cadres, Party members, civil servants, public employees, workers and widely propagandize among people to raise their awareness and responsibility of the development and application of biotechnology in the new context. This is identified as an important and regular task, contributing to breakthroughs in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, protecting and improving the health and quality of life of the local people.

The plan also calls for reviewing and effectively implementing existing policies and programs for biotechnology development and application while promptly updating and deploying new policies in accordance with local conditions. It emphasizes the task of building mechanisms and policies to attract and diversify investment resources for biotechnology development in line with current regulations.

Efforts will also focus on strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency of State management in science and technology within the province. Continued investment will be made to enhance the capacity and quality of operations at the Center for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances, with priority given to research capabilities that can master technologies and apply or transfer biotechnology into into practical production and daily life.
