The supporting industry of Binh Duong province is growing powerfully. However, this industry still has many bottlenecks that need to be removed for further development in the coming time.
In recent years, Binh Duong leaders have been very interested in supporting industry. Specifically, on October 18th, 2017, provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 4659 on the implementation of the Government's Resolution No. 75 / NQ-CP dated August 9, 2017. Accordingly, provincial People's Committee requested Department of Industry and Trade to carry out measures to foster exports, improve the quality of trade promotion activities; concentrate on attracting and developing the manufacturing industries and supporting industry in combination with a strong increase in internal productivity of the industry, technological content and domestic value in products.

Supporting industries will greatly contribute to the development of industries, including the textile and garment industry. In photo: Textile is one of the industries that have contributed significantly to provincial economic development.
As noted, up to now, the number of enterprises operating in the field of industrialization and modernization of the whole country has been modest. In Binh Duong, according to Management Board of provincial industrial zones, said that in 2017, the province had 374 enterprises operating in supporting industry, including 57 enterprises with domestic investment.
Explaining the reasons why businesses are not interested in supporting industry, experts said that incentive policies have played a role in driving the development of this industry, but the results are not as expected. For the supporting industry of Binh Duong to thrive, it is necessary to focus on developing policies for a number of key industries that are capable of creating market capacity and improving the capacity of suppliers of components and spare parts in the country, especially for electronics, automotive, wood and textile industry. In addition, functional sectors should study the formation of separate credit packages with preferential interest rates for supporting industry. At the same time, there is a need for trade promotion programs, in which the local government is both a bridge to support and a supervisor of enterprises while accessing to the world's supporting industry.
At the seminar "Supporting industry development - Strengthening association between foreign invested enterprises and domestic enterprises" held recently by Foreign Investment Agency under Ministry of Planning and Investment, managers and experts discussed about the issue of enhancing the association between foreign invested enterprises and domestic enterprises to develop the supporting industry, experts suggested the Government also need to set up trading floors for industrial products, ideas, technologies to make the connection more convenient.
According to Kim Yong Seok, representative of Samsung Group, the group has promoted technical assistance for Vietnamese enterprises by sending experts to the company to work. From only one Vietnamese company as second-tier supplier to 29 Vietnamese companies now have become one-tier suppliers, Samsung will continue to send experts to guided enterprises for more Vietnamese enterprises are able to participate in the supply chain of the Group, contributing to the development of supporting industry in Vietnam.
According to many domestic enterprises, there are many mechanisms, policies and schemes to support the development of supporting industry, but they have not been really effective yet. The most important thing is how for domestic companies associate with foreign companies to understand the needs and opportunities in order for small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in the global supply chain, thereby contributing to more for the national economy.
