Talking to Bach Dang, everyone thinks of grapefruit gardens. Grapefruit gardens along streets are emerging strongly in the final days of this year. At present, Bach Dang has about 450ha of grapefruit trees, over 310ha of which is offering grapefruits.
Visiting Nguyen Huu Tam’s grapefruit garden at Tan Trach hamlet, everyone will see numerous grapefruits with weight of over one kg per fruit. On average, one grapefruit tree in his 1,600sqm garden offers about 40kg of grapefruit per crop. Price of this fruit is now at VND30,000 per kg.

For a long time, grapefruit has brought stable income for farmers in the islet. And, Tet holiday is the happy time for grapefruit growers, so this fruit often is strongly consumed on Tet. Many grapefruit growers said that in the coming Tet, this fruit is likely to be in high demand.
Grapefruit with high price level and advantaged weather are joyful signals for farmers in Bach Dang commune.
