Under the Resolution of the local Party Committee on boosting urban, hi-tech agricultural models, Bau Dang district has actively disbursed loans from the district’s Support Fund for Farmers, branch of the Bank for Social Policies for farming households to develop production models, stabilizing their lives.
Households getting access to loans
Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Chairwoman of Bau Bang district’s Farmers’ Association said that as of June, 2018, the district’s Support Fund for Farmers reached more than VND1.84billion with the total outstanding loans of more than VND10,99billion. The district’s Farmers’ Association considered, provided VND4.77billion for 199 farming households to develop cultivation and animal husbandry models.

Over the past six months, the Executive Board of the district’s Farmers’ Association disbursed more than VND1.4billion in loan for 106 farming households. Tuyet residing in Lai Uyen township said that over the past time, she used VND30million in loan from the district’s Support Fund for Farmers to tend her rubber garden, helping her secure stable income.
So far, the district’s branch of the Bank for Social Policies has reached more than VND84.32billion in total outstanding loan with 4,640 borrowers. “In general, the district’s Farmers’ Association and its branches have had good coordination with the branch in providing loans for the local farmers to develop models, thereby contributing to reducing poverty, creating jobs and increasing income for them”.
Soon removing obstacles
According to Mrs.Tuyet, the district’s Farmers’ Association will further implement the Project on improving the operation of the local Support Fund for Farmers for the period of 2017-2020 with VND200million approved annually, aiming to create more loans for farming households to develop models.
The district’s Farmers’ Association will also strengthen a task of taking back loans from the central and provincial Support Fund for Farmers while guiding its branches to make loan plans at members’ real demand.
In addition, the district’s Farmers’ Association will further improve its credit activities, especially reinforce the operational quality of saving and loan groups; coordinate with the district’s branch of the Bank for Social Policies to mobilize farmers to gradually pay overdue debts, tighten control over saving groups…
