In recent years, Bau Bang district has effectively implemented solutions to build a modern and civilized city, striving to soon become a second-class city and serve as the economic, industrial and service center of the province.
Synchronous investment
Thanks to strong investment in infrastructure, Bau Bang district has made significant progress. The district is home to key transportation projects in the province, namely the My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway and the Tan Long - Lai Uyen road, which are part of the North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road. In addition, district and commune-level roads have been upgraded in a synchronous manner. To date, district-level roads have been fully paved with asphalt and concrete, achieving 100% completion while commune-level roads have been paved with asphalt and concrete at a rate of 65.8%. Since 2020, the district has invested in upgrading over 69 kilometers of roads, with total investment of more than VND 823 billion. In parallel, the local infrastructure system for electricity and water supply has also received attention, meeting the basic needs of local residents.

Nguyen Van Thuong, Vice Chairman of Bau Bang district’s People's Committee stated that with funding from various sources, the district has successfully completed the construction of the headquarters of district-level agencies and district’s Administrative Center. Infrastructure development in communes and townships has also been given priority. In addition, the district has focused on investing in irrigation projects, flood control measures, improving drainage systems to ensure rapid water drainage, address flooding issues, proactively respond to climate change and protect the environment.

Joining hands in urban development
As the urban center of Bau Bang district, Lai Uyen township is aiming at becoming a fourth-class city by 2025. Van Trong Nghia, Chairman of Lai Uyen township’s People's Committee stated that the local government has actively coordinated with the local Fatherland Front Committee, mass organizations and quarters to encourage residents to actively participate in building and developing Lai Uyen into a fourth-class city. Additionally, the township continues upholding the advantages of the Bau Bang Industrial and Urban Park and its expanded area located within its boundaries to attract investors, playing a key role in enhancing the local economy.
According to Nguyen Cong Tuan, Chairman of Long Nguyen communal People's Committee, the establishment and announcement of the regional planning for Long Nguyen commune is of great significance. This serves as the legal basis for State management on land, providing a foundation for land acquisition, land allocation, land leasing and land use change, in order to meet socio-economic development needs while ensuring national defense and security.
Especially, Long Nguyen commune is striving to meet the criteria for a fifth-class city and establish a ward as part of the district’s upcoming roadmap. According to the plan, agriculture will continue playing a crucial role in the commune’s economic development. The commune is focusing on developing high-tech agriculture to create a breakthrough in agricultural productivity and product quality, contributing to the increased value of the local agricultural sector.
In the period of 2025 and 2030, Bau Bang district will focus on mobilizing resources to invest in completing transportation infrastructure facilities, drainage systems and the solidification of schools and health stations. The district will also gradually complete infrastructure for cultural and sports facilities while further implementing projects under the medium-term public investment plan to meet criteria and establish Bau Bang town ahead of 2030.
