Bau Bang: Industrial development and effective investment attraction

Industrial development has significantly contributed to the transformation of the socio-economic situation in Bau Bang district. It has also facilitated the sustainable development of the local urban areas and effectively attracted investment projects.

Maximizing opportunities

The province’s policy of shifting industrial development towards the northern region, with industrial parks (IPs) serving as a key leverage, has proven its effectiveness, enabling rapid industrial growth in northern localities. Thanks to this policy, Bau Bang district has, in recent years, received major investment to upgrade its urban infrastructure. Numerous belt roads and arterial routes have been completed, positioning Bau Bang as an emerging industrial hub in the northern region of the province.

Ips are driving Bau Bang district’s robust growth and enabling effective investment attraction

With a favorable geographical location, spacious and clear land areas, along with attractive incentives, Ips in Bau Bang district have become a magnet for investors. Many enterprises are investing in new, more modern machinery and expanding their production facilities to enhance productivity. Notable investors include KyungBang Vietnam Co., Ltd., Kolon Group, Polytex Far Eastern (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. and Giant Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd.

Yeh Ming Yuh, General Director of Polytex Far Eastern (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. shared that the company began its investment in Bau Bang Industrial Park in 2015, specializing in synthetic fiber production, textile dyeing and garment manufacturing, with the initial capital of US$274.2 million. After several rounds of capital increase, Polytex Far Eastern has become the largest foreign-invested project in Binh Duong province, with total capital of US$ 1.54 billion.

To date, Bau Bang district has attracted more than 1,500 projects, including over 1,200 domestic projects with total registered capital of over VND 32,500 billion and nearly 300 foreign-invested projects with total registered capital of approximately US$ 4.7 billion. Most of these projects focus on processing and manufacturing industries as well as high-tech sectors. Nguyen Phu Cuong, Vice Secretary of Bau Bang district’s Party Committee and Chairman of the district’s People's Committee said that the district is implementing various solutions to mobilize all available resources for investment and development. These include rapid improvement of infrastructure systems, particularly transportation links to the local IPs, administrative reform and the creation of a favorable business and investment environment. The district also aims at seizing every opportunity to promote itself to new investors, striving to become a northern industrial and urban center of the province.

Leverage from infrastructure development

The construction of IP infrastructure not only allows Bau Bang to expand its land fund for development, but also provides favorable conditions to attract high-quality foreign investment projects. Recently, Binh Duong province commenced the construction of the 700-hectare Cay Truong Industrial Park and phase 2 of the Bau Bang Industrial Park expansion, which adds 380 hectares of clean, contiguous land to the existing park. These new parks offer synchronized and modern infrastructure, being ready to accommodate large-scale industrial production investors. Both parks are planned with a focus on harmonizing production and ecological protection, attracting high-quality, especially green and smart enterprises.

According to leaders of Bau Bang district, Ips present significant development opportunities for the locality. They contribute to industrial growth while also promoting urbanization, commerce and services. As a result, the district’s industrial production value has maintained the annual growth rate of over 21%. The IPs in Bau Bang are equipped with modern and comprehensive infrastructure are advantageously located near major transportation routes such as National Highway 13, My Phuoc – Tan Van arterial road and North Tan Uyen – Phu Giao – Bau Bang arterial road. These routes provide seamless connectivity to Ho Chi Minh city, Dong Nai, Long An and the Central Highlands. Thanks to these advantages, Bau Bang IP has continued attracting strong interest from investors.

To Van Dan, General Director of Hai Thanh Wood Processing Co., Ltd. stated that the company has invested over VND 1,000 billion in a project comprising of a factory and office rental facilities on a 100,000m² area within Bau Bang IP. This project will follow a modern and environmentally friendly direction, aligning with the trend of Bau Bang and other IPs in Binh Duong province.

In this new development phase, Bau Bang district has continued mobilizing resources to build a comprehensive and modern infrastructure system, closely linked with the development of industry, services and urban areas. According to provincial master plan for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the core region (including Thu Dau Mot city, Tan Uyen city, Ben Cat city and Bau Bang district) will function as a smart urban zone focused on developing next-generation industrial – urban – service models. This core region will serve as a growth pole and development engine for the province, with its nucleus being centralized industrial and information technology zones, gradually evolving into a provincial science and technology park. It will also define the development directions for healthcare, culture, education, trade and high-quality services as well as attracting industries such as electricity, electronics, chips and semiconductor technology.

In line with the province's policy of shifting industrial development to the northern region of the province, Bau Bang district has been creating a strong attraction for investors. This is also the locality approved to increase the industrial park area by 6.2 times compared to the operating area. In addition to Bau Bang IP, expanded Bau Bang IP, Cay Truong IP, the district also has Tan Binh IP, Lai Hung IP which are also investing in infrastructure, being ready to welcome businesses to build factories.
