Bau Bang strives to become an industrial-urban hub in northern region of province

Bau Bang district was established and officially worked from April 1, 2014 under the Government’s Resolution No.136/NQ-CP dated December 29, 2013. Upon achievements done over the past time, the district’s Party Committee in the 2015-2020 tenure has set a goal of striving to become an industrial-urban hub in the northern region of Binh Duong province.

Firm foundation

Locating in the northern region of the province with an abundant land fund, Bau Bang district has step by step received investment in terms of traffic system, basically meeting locals and businesses’ demand for traveling and goods transportation. Along with this, Bau Bang industrial park (IP) has perfected its infrastructure and so far, 50% of the IP’s area has been covered by businesses, including great ones like the Taiwanese-invested Vien Dong Company with total investment capital of more than US$274mln…

Bau Bang has also been recognized as a fifth-class city. Nguyen Huu Chi, Secretary of Bau Bang district’s Party Committee said that under the adjustment of provincial overall socio-economic development plan till 2020 and supplement towards 2015, including attaching special importance on industrial development in the northern region of the province, leaders of the district has mapped out the local overall socio-economic development plan till 2015.

In addition, the district is asking permission of the province to develop additional 1,700 hectares of industrial land and is expected to expand its urban-service land by 1,300 hectares to foster the local urban space.

Possibly speaking, all the above elements will be a foundation for Bau Bang to promote its industrialization and modernization; reach a comprehensive evolution, helping it soon become an industrial-urban hub in the northern region of the province.

Industrial development in line with planning

To achieve the set targets, Bau Bang district has aimed at industrial development under the trend of diversification. Particularly, the district will promote hi-tech based auxiliary industries, trade-service forms in line with the period of the local socio-economic development; simultaneously attach special importance to developing farm produce processing industry and environmentally friendly industries.

The district will also focus on building up a favorable investment climate to absorb more investors. Regarding investment attraction, the district will give priority to large-scale projects in the fields in line with the local development plan and restrict the development of projects outside industrial parks, compounds.

According to Le Thanh Tam, Vice-Chairman of Bau Bang district’s People’s Committee, the district will perfect its plans on overall socio-economic development till 2025, urban development towards 2030 together with detailed and zoning plans. The district will also closely control over land funds that are expected to build its major urban functional sections as approved.

“Bau Bang will upgrade some district-level roads and adjust its traffic system connecting district-level roads and inter-communal ones, meeting locals’ demand for travelling and the local demand for socio-economic development. The district will also suggest the province to invest in inter-regional traffic system like My Phuoc-Tan Van expressway, belt road No.5, DT749a road…to serve industrial development as well as creating a motivation for its urban development”, he added.
