With 7 administrative units at communal level and nearly 83,000 people, Bau Bang has gained strong changes in terms of economic development with great contributions from collective economic models. The district is now home to 8 cooperatives on agriculture, construction, transportation…with a total investment capital of more than VND18bln. There are also 9 cooperative groups stably operating in the fields of animal husbandry and cultivation with a total registered investment capital of around VND8.9bln.
Le Thanh Tam, Vice-Chairman of Bau Bang district’s People’s Committee said that the local collective economy got a robust growth in the right direction over the past time, but there were shortcomings for change. For the sector getting better results, prediction and market research are needed to help locals have good orientations for development, contributing to increase income and improving their lives.
Strengthening cooperatives’ activities
Established in June 2015, Phuoc Thanh cooperative is well-known as one of Bau Bang district’s effective cooperatives. It made contributions to working out traffic works over the past time. Regarding transportation field, cooperatives in the district also made efforts in developing their services and sources of revenue, ensuring members’ lives.
Together with advantages, the district’s collective economy has still faced difficulties for change. At a recent meeting with leaders of the district, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that improving and developing collective economy was a right policy. In fact, collective economic development brought rural areas in the province positive changes over the past time. Hence, Bau Bang district must strengthen the activities of the local cooperatives and cooperative groups, developing production and stabilizing locals’ lives. He also emphasized that the district needed to boost inspection and supervision to impulse its collective economy in the right direction and achieve the set targets in the sector.
